I'd like to share an experience I had with a certain company. I had a scheduled appointment with them at noon yesterday March 3, 2024, which they confirmed at 6 o’clock the same evening.

However, on the day of the appointment March 4, 2024, they called me to reschedule, which didn't fit into my schedule. I was willing to reschedule, but they insisted on charging me a cancellation fee because it was being done on the same day.

It's important to note that they were the ones who initiated the change to the schedule, not me. I was prepared to reschedule and have the technician come out, and I was willing to pay for the service. Despite this, they still insisted on charging me $80 plus tax for the same-day change.

There was no mention of any charges for cancellation or rescheduling fees during my previous conversations with them. I advise others to steer clear of this company, as their business practices and customer service are subpar.

We called Appliance Repair (Oshawa) (905) 233-0993 to have our fridge repaired. The repair person arrived on 04-04-2023. His initials on our paper work were M H. The number showing at the top of this paper work is 140491. He told us our compressor needed replacement and they had the part in stock and our fridge would be repaired in 2 to 5 days. They made us pay one half ($953.09) by debit card for the work to be done. On Apr 6th we called to see why they hadn't arrived. Our responce was that the part didn't come in. On Apr 13th we talked to them again and they said that they received the wrong part. Because we had no responce from them we called them on Apr 17th and cancelled the work order and asked for our money back. Easter was on Apr 7th. so we cancelled the work 8 business days after the initial service call. On the back of the paper work he left with us it said we have 10 days to cancell the work. This is the Consumer Protection Act. We were told we would receive $425 back and we would receive it by May 14th. We called again on May 16th and they told us they would call us back within 24 hours. It is May 19th at 3:30 PM and they will not call us back, I am filling out this ScamPulse.com Scam report.

We were quoted $80 for the service call and if we had the repair they would refund the money

Only the charged $280 for the diagnostic and then $80 for the service call

The repair is $429.55 +tax for a $50 part

Our whirlpool washer was not draining which was on the screen (DRN). On January 23, 2023, my wife contacted The A Team Appliance Repair (toll free number) and the dispatch told her that a technician will be coming to our house that day. The service charge quoted was $80.00 which would be deducted from the total cost of repairs. When the technician arrived, my wife told him that the problem was related to the drainage pipe. He diagnosed the problem and during this time my wife had left for a doctor's appointment. I didn't know about the service charge. He gave me a bill for $316.40. I was disputing the amount since we knew that it was related to the drainage pipe but he claimed that he was here for 40 minutes which was not true. I saw him on his phone or looking at his cell phone. He then advised me that the drain pump was "fried".and we needed a drain pump assembly that would cost $712.66 plus tax.

When my wife came home and saw the bill, she was surprised at the cost of $316.40 for looking at the machine when she was quoted $80.00. She called their customer service and couldn't get anywhere about her complaint. On January 24, I contacted their toll number and wanted to speak with the employer (owner) and was told that there is a silent partner. I had to speak with customer service but just got the runaround (same speech as my wife). I again asked to speak with the employer or owner of the company but she would not comply. The manner of the customer service rep was dismissive and borderline rude.

I called a reputable company (that was recommended) and they came to our house on January 24. The technician diagnosed the problem and cleaned debris from the pump (a pin) and there was absolutely no drainage issue. The technician indicated that we did not need a drain pump assembly..

Service call for washing machine. The company asked for $90.40. A cheque was sent to the address on the invoice. That cheque was returned with postal designation - MOVED. Phoned the company and was given a new address. Another cheque sent December 6. Now a third phone call from the collection group of Canada at 255 consumer Rd m2j 1r3. They want a third cheque sent .

On Nov.17 2022 a technician came to diagnose our SAMSUNG broken fridge and charged us CAD 1,200.00 (paid in cash) to order parts which were supposed to arrive in 2 weeks or less from US.

After waiting 3 weeks we starting calling the company to verify the status of the parts order.

First, we were told they are on backorder and after couple weeks we were told the transport truck is stuck at the US border for the entire month of DECEMBER. The CSR that we spoke with were unwilling to give us any other reason for the delay and refused to put us in touch with the manager of the company. When we tried to cancel the work order we’re told the refund would be less than half the amount paid because they will have to charge us the total labor cost CAD 310 + tax which was not performed plus restocking of the parts ordered of CAD 300 without any proof that they actually ever ordered.

Second, we received a call on Dec.29 to book a repair appointment which we did for the Jan 5th being under the impression that the parts finally have arrived. To our surprise another technician arrived without parts and diagnosed again the fridge. After disassembling the back of the fridge he informed us that he need to order parts leaving us speechless. We called back the company and the next appointment for repair is supposed to be on Jan.11 without any explanations on why they need to order parts again.

We verified the company’s reviews and they are all bad so, we totally started to believe is all fraudulent scamming company.

All we want is money back to fix the fridge by someone else and to put a stop to this company.

Appliance repair company advertising repair for a dryer that we had broken. Web site looks very professional. I phoned the number to set appointment and was told there was an $80 fee to send a tech which would be waived if the work went ahead. The tech arrived in his personal car and did not appear to have any parts besides an interact machine. I was informed it would be $280 in labour up front to continue. I paid via interact the tech took approximately half an hour and told me the dryer was not worth fixing and left. I have subsequently gone to a reputable appliance sales and service shop in Guelph to look at a new dryer and in my discussion with the sales rep discovered 3 other customers had had the same experience. In retrospect there were many red flags in the process but these guys are pretty slick. I have an email chain that I can forward if that would be of some help
