1.7.26, they reached out for me to DJ a corporate gig in Chicago. I replied for more details, they responded but in between time, I came across others who had received this scamming email as well.

We received an email from a booker at [email protected] asking us to perform music in Chicago (we're from Oregon) at a company corporate event. The person pretending to be Hailey seemed to have all of the information available for time and day and what the event was like, but wasn't interested in setting up a Zoom call together. I looked in to it a little more and things just didn't seem to be lining up. I saw that someone called the event space, Ravenswood Event Center, and their recorded message literally says if you've been hired for performing arts to play here, that we're probably being scammed. Haileykilgoreshines@gmail is a scammer and they're using Ravenswood Event Center for the proposed location.

want to give a heads-up to fellow DJs and creatives about a scam I recently encountered. I was contacted by someone named Hailey Kilgore ([email protected]) claiming to represent a company called Great Scale Ventures for a corporate event in Chicago on July 26, 2025.

They provided a legit-sounding location and vague event details but couldn’t verify their connection to the company. I did some digging and reached out to Great Scale Ventures directly — and their Managing Partner confirmed the inquiry was a scam. The company is real, but someone is using their name fraudulently to target vendors like us.

⚠️ Red flags to watch for:

No verifiable contact info or company website references

Random dates/times with no real planning questions

Gmail or suspicious-looking email accounts

Requests that might escalate to deposits or financial info

I didn’t lose any money or share personal details, but I want to help prevent others from falling for similar tactics. If you’re ever unsure, verify directly with the company through official channels.

Stay safe out there and keep supporting each other! 🎧💪

I just received a similar email for the same type of thing. I agree, it felt funny and didn't feel right. Thank you for posting this so I could confirm that it was a scam too.

- Pensacola, FL, USA

This scammer was used to email us contract to look over of what was to be paid out to the entertainer. Booked contract to DJ a company's corporate event at venue in Chicago to find out it's a SCAM and was advised to cut all ties with the sender/ organization. When called the venue to confirm the date of the social event I was advised by employee who answered the phone that this was a SCAM, I was already suspicious of the whole contract but this phone call just confirmed it. Hoping this will help someone else along the way. I did let the person who sent the contract know via email that I was aware this is a SCAM and I would be reporting it .
