Contacted twice

I have been contacted twice by Goldman Mediation. Last week I spoke to them not understanding it wad a scam. They claimed I had an old Bank of America account that I owed $900+ on and I had to pay right away. I told the woman I'd call her the next day. I did some quick research, realized it was a scam and of course did not call back. These people had my social, my email, my most recent address, and current address. Said they had been mailing me letters for over ten years, obviously a lie. They were going to report me to ChexSystems so I would lose access to banking and debit privileges, and they would garnish my wages. I got a second call today, didn't answer and the same voice mail was left. These people need to be stopped. I'm in my late 40s and nearly got scammed because it seemed so legit at first. Someone older or less savvy is going to get taken.

The scammer used my information, account number and social security number. To legitimatize on what he said was an old bank account that I had years ago which was left with an outstanding balance of $940.84. He informed me that if I didn’t pay this amount in full I was not going to be able to open an account in another bank for 5-7 years. He also sent me a letter to my email stating all the information that he had told me.

The scammer used mine and my husbands information, account number, social security number's. To legitimatize a debit on a old bank account that he had before we were even together. They said that if he didnt pay 173.00 then we were not going to be able to get a bank account again.
