I received a notification from LinkedIn about a remote data entry position posted on Linked-In with Carwin Pharmaceutical Associates. I applied for the position and received a confirmation email from someone at "CarwinPharma" saying they wanted to move forward with the hiring process. They sent me a brief "Assessment" to complete and I completed it and then received an email from "goldenhomesproperties.store" saying that I had passed the assessment and they were going to move forward with the hiring process. Since this email was from "Golden Homes Property" and not from "Carwin Pharmaceutical Associates", I became suspicious of this position. I replied to the email from Carwin and asked why this email was from Golden Homes instead of from Carwin. He said that he worked for both companies and to continue with the process. They then sent me a contract to complete regarding the benefits and the salary for the position. I completed the contract but then I received another email asking for the name of my bank so that they could send me a check to pay for my laptop and other expenses for working from home. I then called the number on the Golden Homes Property, LLC website which was listed as 315-631-2366. I spoke with someone who claimed to be "Jake Holloway" who had sent me a text to my phone to verify that I had replied to his last email asking for my bank name. He explained that he just needed my bank name and not any account number information or any other information. I did not feel comfortable about this so I did a Google search with the address listed on the "Golden Homes Property, LLC" website. I found that this belonged to another company with another phone number. I called this other number of ************ and they let me know that their address had been copied and pasted from their website and that "Golden Homes Property, LLC" was a scam.
