I was contacted by a man with a foreign accent, Richard Williams, claiming that I had been approved for a loan I applied for through a different bank. I never applied for a loan so I was curious. He never asked for employment verification, social security number or any other information usually required for a loan. When I questioned him about my credit score, he said they are making loans strictly by trust that you will repay it. He offered to send the money to me via Western Union or Money Gram. He stated that before he finished processing the loan I would need to get a Walmart Money Card with $260.00 on it to show that I would be using this particular card to make monthly payments. So, I agreed and took his contact information. I then contacted the real G.E. Capital Bank and informed them of the call I received. Although I knew it was a scam, the terms seemed to be too good to be true. He offered me a $6,000 loan making 24 monthly payments of of $260.00 which would only be a total of $6,240.00 once all payments were made. (Only $240 interest for the bank). Well he called me back and I requested that he take the $260 out of the $6,000 he would send and he got an attitude and told me that it wouldn't make any sense. I explained to him that it wouldn't make any sense for me to upload money on a prepaid card and then give him the card number after I had spoken to the real G. E. Capital Bank and was aware that what he was doing was fraudulent. He quickly told me I had his contact information, call him back if I changed my mind and hung up before I could say another word. As previously state, his name is Richard Williams. He states that he is with G.E. Capital Bank. His employee I.D. #74185. The phone number provided is 518-768-1992 Ex. 107. Requested money to be deposited on a Prepaid Walmart Money Visa Card.
