On January 10, 2024 I called a number from a website to company to come and fix my garage door. Once the guys arrived. A lot of things didn’t end up with those people, however I was desperate and needed the work done. The technician kept changing the company name, giving me different estimates, ending up charging me$1196 with all the “discounts” the claimed to give me. The technician never provided me with their name, the invoice came from a different company without any itemized item. Technician claimed to charge for taxes, and credit card fee $50… Upon further investigation on their website their address is connected to Quality Inn Hotel. (1170 Thorn Run Road Extension, Coraopolis, PA 15108) . Same website with a same name is found with a Florida address. Technician were deflecting my questions about inquiring their name or their Contractor license number. They took a photo of my drivers license number without explanation. In the situation I wasn't thinking straight and got scammed. I want to report this website, this company to prevent further fraudulent activities.

Contacted https://garagedoorrepairenglewoodfl.com/services.html who sent out “Lakeview Garage Repair”. Showed up in non identifiable vans, wrote a receipt with nothing itemized, refused a check, said cash or credit card. Took drivers license and credit card payment. Neither Garage Door Repair Englewood or Lakeview Garage Repair are licensed or insured in Florida. Called the supervisor for Lakeview Garage Repair and he said “he didn’t know what his license number was”. Went to the office location for Garage Door Repair Englewood and it doesn’t exist. Now when we question either company, they hang up on all of us. Complete fraud.

We needed our garage springs replaced. I couldn't tell you his name but company claimed to be Garage Door Repair. He had a shirt that matched name so thought it was legit. Got suspicious though when I saw nothign on the side of his car, nor anything on the contract that stated thier address, website, etc.

He put a different size of springs on our door but explained why. He also said the springs were covered by a 1 year warranty. It seemed to work ok, balancing the door so that it would open, however, the motor of our garage is a side mount and it moved every time he operated it. It looked like his springs were causing the whole bar to bend. I thought this was not right.

Additionally, the garage would only open, not close, which he said happens to these motors after a spring break...(total bs). I asked him to make it right, but he kept blaming the motor. He went outside and it appeared as if he was watching YouTube videos to see how to make adjustments to our brand of opener. (another red flag).

I asked to speak with the owner of the company, to which he said he was the owner...then he said he was the manager...he tried to call someone but no one picked up.

This person claimed to have a license and bonded, but said it was on file back at the office. He mentioned not normally having the contract signed until the work was finished, which I thought was odd...

I told him I wasn't going to pay him until my door functioned properly. I asked for the owner's name and contact info, which he didnt' produce. I asked for company address...nothing. He didn't like that and eventually left.

After spending a couple hours researching the situation, I discovered he did not properly attach our tension 'alarm' or sensor, so the system was stoppign it from going down every time. I adjusted and it now works, however, the rod still seems bent due to his springs.

His office manager called us over the weekend and demanded we pay or they were goign to come take the springs out. I asked for their address to file a complaint as they misrepresented themselves with no license, not bonded, and a fake warranty...

I still haven't found them online and feel like they are completely fake.

They are using our private residency as their business address with google maps having people come to our home for business. We have been getting mail delivered for them for past 3+ months and we keep returning it as wrong addressee, return to sender, but still more. We got some that looked like tax information, so directory billing mail, etc...They have a phone number listed on their web page thru Hubbiz which is 303-502-1449. Both myself and my husband have tried to contact them via phone and each time we start to ask to talk with someone they hang up. I even tried asking if I good get a quote and someone to my address for the quote and they said call another garage door company. I don't know why our address is being used or how it is, but we don't want people showing up demanding work be done, payment, etc... We are a private residence. Thank you. Annette Nevitt

I was looking for a small local company in Orlando, Florida to examine and possibly repair my garage door. It would not close properly. There was a listing in the Bing search engine for a company named Garage Door Repair at 2100 N. Forsyth Rd, Orlando, Fl 32807. When I clicked on it, a website for leftysgaragedoor in California popped up. I interpreted this as a computer glitch and called the local number.(4079490377) The person who answered advised me that there was a $29 service call fee and he set up an appointment for a technician to come to my home the following day. However when the technician came, he tested the door and decided I needed to buy a new opener, which he would install for $300. He also advised me that I had to pay him an additional $50 for diagnosing the door problem. When I made out the check, he told me to make it out to him. I later got a call from an 800 number (800-714-7440) from a woman inquiring if the technician had been to the house and how much he had been paid. I called this 800 number the following morning in an attempt to get a refund of the $50 fee which I had paid above the $29 service fee. I felt that an diagnosis of the problem would have been included in the service call fee. The man who answered told me this was not possible. The fact that the technician wanted the check made out to him and not to the company and the call from a woman inquiring how much money was paid to him as well as the exorbitant price quote to install a new garage door opener($300) leads me to believe that the listing on the internet may not be a real business and should be avoided. I don't know if this qualifies as a scam or just poor judgement on my part for paying the $50 diagnostic fee without first calling the company.. However I wanted to bring this incident to your attention and other potential customers can avoid this problem.
