To notify the government of a fraudulent business, report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, which is the main hub for scams and bad business practices. Other options include reporting to your local consumer protection office, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov, or specific agencies like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for investment fraud.
Key reporting steps
Federal Trade Commission (FTC): Report all types of scams, fraud, and bad business practices to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. This is the primary resource for the government to track and combat fraud.
Better Business Bureau (BBB): Report the problem to the local BBB. While not a government agency, it helps resolve complaints and shares information with the public.
Local Consumer Protection Office: File a complaint with your local or state consumer protection office.
Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): For fraud that occurred online, report it to the FBI's IC3.gov.
Specific Agencies: For certain types of fraud, report to the relevant government agency:
Investment fraud: Contact the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Treasury or IRS fraud: Report issues to the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
USAGov: Use USAGov's report-a-scam tool to be directed to the most relevant agency for your specific situation.

OPUS Immersive Inc is a scam company with a nice looking website and social media campaign. There are thousands who have paid a depot of $99 to get on a wait list and then told the product is ready to ship once payment is made in full ($2000). However, the product is never delivered. Requests for refunds are met with nicely worded email responses claiming a problem with the billing agency used by the company. However, the refund is never provided. A Facebook group titled “Opus Sound bed scam” was started and has thousands of participants that have been scammed. However, the Opus social media account was able to claim ownership of this page and now it controls the comments that are posted. Nonetheless they cannot keep up with deleting the thousands of posts from people that were scammed. They are masterfully running a major scam that has stolen millions of dollars from consumers.
