They say they are from the federal government and that you have won a grant from the federal government for $9000.00 dollars. It's a once in a lifetime deal and you don't have to pay it back. When you talk to another person about the payment they tell you you can have it deposited into your bank account,put on a card,or you can get it in 3 payments In money orders. All you have to do is pay $200.00 that is refundable so you will receive $,9200.00 total. If you ask them why they don't take it out of the grant money they avoid the question at all costs.

They offered me a government grant using my sister’s name on Facebook messenger. They are also using Gina Lopez McCarthy’s name to make it sound legitimate. I sent them no money. I believe that they can scam others if nothing is done to stop them.

This number has called me numberous times. Each time they explain that they are with the government and my name and number was selected to receive free money from the government. A free grant. They tell me all I need to do is go to Walmart and deposit 200$ with money gram.

That was one incident

The next call was when they asked me was I who they asked I was. I slipped up and said yes, who is this.

They automatically hung up. (Usually I don't say yes) the last time they called I didn't say yes, I said no thank you, they hung up before I could say put me on the do not call list. So I answered wanting to do that on the last call.

I remember hearing about a scam of when you say yes they can use the recording and do things with the information they have on you.
