I received an email under the guise of PayPal thanking me for my order for Amazon Prime for 4 devices. The total was $239.04 US. It stated that it would be an auto debit from my bank account. The date of the email was January 9, 2025, Transaction ID: 2784127, PayPal customer ID: tmZandoTssolC, response to member [email protected], message from Roy D. Maness by Kimberlie Mercado at [email protected].

I received an unsolicited email from Paypal on behalf of Palomino Bazaar LLC stating that I had an invoice for $1042.99. When I accessed the invoice a window popped up instead indicating that this was a scam and the invoice had been removed and not to contact any of the hyperlinks on the original email.

I was BCC'd on an email from "[email protected]" (legitimately authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication), to the recipient "[email protected]". I was given an invoice of $1,095.37 USD with a (fraudulent) invoice number of 0217 with the following note from the seller: "Unrecognized transaction? If this wasn't you, contact us now at (888) 397-7479." The button to "View and Pay Invoice" does seem to legitimately go to the Paypal domain. I did not click the button or any links, but upon logging into my Paypal account, I did not see any evidence of an invoice being sent to me.
