I was selling a $2000 camera lens through Facebook Marketplace. The scammer “Leon Perry” wanted to purchase it, and we planned to meet up. They sent me $2000 over Venmo, which until now was my preferred payment method. Their Venmo account was “Leon-Perry-105”, but it now seems to be deactivated. They had their “roommate” pick up the lens. Their name was David, and they had a uber sign on their car, leading me to believe this was not a roommate, but an uber.

I travel between MA and CT. The lens was listed in MA, but was picked up from me in CT.

After doing my research, I have spoken with dozens of victims of this scam. Some from “Leon Perry”, and some from others named “Henry Rivera”, “Frank Selgado”, and “Dominik Millwad”.

Everyone who I have spoken to has been scammed in the NYC area, leading me to believe the person/people behind this scam are from there. I am about 2.5hrs from NYC.

Someone who has also been scammed by “Leon Perry” told me his license plate is H35NWN.
