The mailed letter noted that a deceased person in Canada shared my last name and had a $11.5m USD life insurance payout. The letter asked me to contact the law firm to come to an agreement to split the payout with the law firm. As noted in similar scams, the law firm is based in Toronto (and is a real firm) but the letter was mailed from Mid-Island NY with USPS stamp.
