This was an (admitted) scam of computer repair via the Internet. While browsing the Internet a window popped up telling me my machine had been infected and that I needed to call 1-855-403-2307 immediately. As I could not close the window, I called. The person who answered at Tech Matrix transferred me to someone who explained they were an authorized Mac repair and that my system had been infected. For the ridiculous price of $699 they could fix it, put up a firewall, clean out my Mac, iPad, iPhone, Dell and printer and offer service for one year. They brought it down to $679.99, took my information and opened up a window for a tech to work. He cleaned out all of the previous security software I already had on the machine and then proceeded to put on my machine the exact same software. When I questioned this, he said he had never met anyone who knew how to do that. Even the firewall was the same. When I confirmed this with the company from whom I had bought the original software that he deleted, I called my credit card company and stopped the transaction and called DigiSupportPros to cancel the service. They admitted they were a scam but agreed to refund my money when I told them I was reported them. I have the sales contract emails and the refund email.
