Dell - Name Spoofed Reports & Reviews (1)

- Jonesboro, GA, USA

I bought a computer from deal.com in 2015. Later received the call from a number (800)-624-9896 pretending to be dell.com. He had all my information. My phone number, My name what type of computer I bought and when I bought it. That could only happen if there was a data breach deal.com. ( which they failed to notify their consumers about) I let the person who called me access my computer remotely. It was only when he tried to get me to access my email while he was on the phone with me. I became suspicious. I hung up on him look up the real deal customer support number. I gave them a call and let them know what happened. They informed me that it was a scam and that they would not contact me by phone. When I purchase the computer I bought a full four year warranty on my computer. Which comes with the in home repair personnel, Accidental Damage and Hardware protection. The real dell access my computer remotely. They ran a virus scan on my computer told me everything was fine and my laptop was safe to use. Anytime I use my computer I get a call from the fake dell. Saying the computer is sending them messages and that they need to run a scan on it remotely. He even knew that i install McAfee on it. I notified the real Dell of this problem on three different occasions and that either I want an exchange or my money back. I can't access my bank information without Worrying. The computer is still fully covered.
