Individual posed as a dog breeder from Rochester New York was willing to ship the dogs to us in Texas. The shipping company, Smart Pets and Cargo Movers. Transport company was also in on the scam. Breeder allowed me to pay 1/2 the cost as a deposit and the balance would be paid up upon arrival of the pets. The amount I paid was $600 for two sheltie’s.Attempts to pay were done through Venmo, did not work had to end up sending through chime.Once the pets were ready for transport received a call from the cargo mover that because of weather special transport crate was required, a thermal electric crate, and the cost would be 950. I was not willing to pay the 950 so the buyer offered to pay 450 and I would pay 500. Payment would not go through Venmo or chime so the breeder suggested a Walmart cash cards. Told me to take a picture of the front and back and show the receipt. Walmart would not sell me a cash card once they heard why I needed it told the breeder that and he suggested an Apple Pay card went to CVS and bought an Apple Pay card for $500 and send it to him. I received another notification later that night, saying that the pets were in transport and at the layover the department of insurance noticed that there was no insurance on the dogs and wanted $1500. I did not pay that feeling at this point it was a scam received call from the shipping company and the breeder trying to explain why they needed this still did not pay. Dogs were due to arrive at my house late Saturday night and never arrived. Have not heard anything from the breeder or shipping company tried contacting them and they don’t answer. I googled the breeders website and found out they were identified on a pet cam.com website as an organization that scams people reported them to Apple, chime, Venmo, and the Better Business Bureau. Total loss was $1100.
