I was notified in an email that I had ordered a year of Geek Squad service. I made an initial call to refute any request for the service. I made it clear that I had not ordered the service. I then ended the initial phone caIl. Shortly thereafter, I received a telephone call from the scammer's number, but I did not answer the call. Later that day, I received a second email confirming my order of the Geek Squad subscription. In that email, there was a phone number given to end the subscription and get a refund. (Note: I never paid any money by check or credit card and logically would not be eligible for any type of "refund"). This telephone number, it turned out, was the same number as the one I called initially. When I called that number, I was told that in order to stop the subscription/charges I would have to fill out a form that they would forward to me. I reluctantly agreed to fill out the form hoping to stop further contacts from them. They asked for name, address, phone, and email (which they already had). The next screen asked for my bank name and whether the account was savings or checking. When I refused to provide that information, the "customer service rep" argued that the only way I would get a refund was by providing this information. I reminded him that I had not paid any money and hung up telling them I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I am certain that the next screen would have asked for the bank routing number and/or my account numbers. They are persistent, argumentative, and devious. I hope you will warn others of this scam.
