Type of a scam Employment
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a fraudulent recruiting scheme involving Globe Life AIL Bitman Organization and Globe Life AIL Bowling Organization. I applied for a position through Handshake, and I was contacted by a fraudulent recruiter posing as a representative from one of these organizations. The recruiter contacted me on two separate occasions and set up two Zoom interviews, during which I was falsely offered a position.
Details of the Fraudulent Incident:
• Job Position: Benefits Specialist
• Recruiters Involved:
o Stacy Bryant, posing as the HR Director (email: [email protected])
o Nicolette Van Rensburg, who contacted me to schedule interviews (email: [email protected])
o Brent Bowling, who conducted the Zoom interview and provided a brief background on Globe Life and the offered position.
During the Zoom meeting, I was split into a group of two for further consideration of the job position. Following the interview, I received “new hire” instructions and additional details about the position. As per the recruiter’s instructions, I was told I needed to obtain my South Carolina State Life Insurance License through a company called Xcel Solutions. I was advised to pay $49 for the course to get started. I proceeded to register for the course and paid the required $49.
Red Flags:
• Xcel Solutions, the company that was suggested for the licensing course, has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and several complaints about fraudulent activities.
• I could not locate any verifiable information or official profiles for Globe Life AIL Bitman Organization or Globe Life AIL Bowling Organization on any reputable platforms.
• The emails provided for communication were suspicious, and I grew increasingly concerned after receiving "new hire" documents and instructions.
Given these circumstances, I am concerned that this was a fraudulent operation intended to deceive me into paying for a non-existent service and potentially steal personal information.
Action Taken:
• I am notifying my bank of this fraudulent activity and disputing the $49 charge made to Xcel Solutions.
• I am reporting this incident to ensure that no one else falls victim to this scam and that the perpetrators are investigated.
I would appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and an investigation into this fraudulent activity.
