Scam call from cox

I'm getting calls from 844-472-8791, and I believe Cox has given scammers my personal information. Not only have I received these scam calls, but many others have as well.

Person called from a cell phone number pretending to be cox communications . There was all kinds of noise in background and she said my internet security was not working and and I ended up go in and change something and that their technicians were working on it . When I said to her, “how do I know you are ftom Cox , she hung up . I did not give her any information . I called cox and they do not call from cell numbers and said my internet was working perfectly .

This morning, I received a phone call from what I thought was Cox Communications. The phone number was listed as 402/932-5685. A young-sounding woman, whose voice I recognized from two other scam calls, told me that "Our records show that you stayed at one of our resorts...

It was at this point that I angrily told her, "WE NEVER STAYED AT ANY OF YOUR RESORTS..AND DON'T CALL ME AGAIN!!! then ended the call. I contacted my local police department, who told me that they just tell people not to give out personal information...which I already knew not to do.

I've never reported a scam at this sight before, so I hope I did this right.
