I received a phone call with no caller ID, but when I answered, they said it was Cox Communications calling about my wifi and how they had sent me some emails recently about discounts for a lower rate. I answered because I work in sales and always need to be sure it is not a client. I quickly checked my email while he was talking and did not see any emails from Cox regarding discounts. He asked me a question to which I said "yes," which now concerns me regarding this scam (https://abcnews.go.com/Business/fcc-warns-consumers-phone-scam/story?id=4640570...⇄ that they have my recording and might use it for fraudulent charges. I knew it was a scam because then he said he needed to verify my security questions and asked for the name of my first pet, and I was like, "Oh yeah, no, this sounds like a scam to me. You can email me if this is real," and he tried to keep me on the phone, but then I hung up. Yikes.

Internet was out at our home for a few days. Googled “Cox” (ISP in Las Vegas) and called the number provided. The person on the line told me the internet was out due to non payment and asked for credit card to make the payment. When I saw the fraudulent charges I immediately hung up and called the bank. They were attempting to charge multiple amounts to different things. Scammer then called back to again state they needed the payment because the bank stopped them and cancelled the card. They did know my monthly payment amount for internet. I did not engage further and disconnected the call
