The person called and said they were with Consumer Council and then asked if I could hear them and I replied yes. They then hung up.

We are getting multiple calls per day from several different phone numbers, all within our area code. The person who speaks is named Jill and she immediately says press 1 to be unsubscribed. I don’t trust this prompt. She goes on to talk about disability insurance, etc., etc. We hang up. But the number of calls we are getting each day is ridiculous. Since they appear local, it is hard to separate from more important local calls.

While my phone was on Do Not Disturb they called me three (3) times in a row, effectively bypassing my DND setting - and beause of this, I thought it was a real phone call and most likely an emergency. so I answered.
