Supposedly this business monitors our computer for scams.

- Dillsburg, PA, USA

computer was locked by them with a number to call to unlock and a fire wall plan to be installed.

The ad was in the news feed on Microsoft's Edge home page, this company "Your Computer", promises work from home opportunities to people who buy into their offers. The advertisement never reveals the location of the company's business or any contact information, just links to fill out personal information and to pay a "fee" to start the application process. Beware of this ad it seems legitimate, but it is not. The ad is very convincing, but any offer that requires payment upfront and personal info is a scam. I did not fill out the form and lost nothing but time.

My computer suddenly stopped and an alarm went off - I was shown a phone number to call immediately. I re-started and the same thing came up. I called the number and they said they were Microsoft. They had very basic information about my computer - gave me my "Microsoft ID". They showed me hundreds of hacks that had been done through a "Trojan Horse" - and said they could fix it all but it would take about an hour. I let them do the work - and after that, they said it would cost $199...which then changed to $200. I had no way to pay that at the moment so they agreed to take a post dated check for a week from that day. They said I had to call them to let them know it was okay to put the check through. I never did - thinking they would just do it on the day specified. They didn't, and so I called and got a weird message about a system failure. They had said the bank account would show "InTech" as the company name - and that they were sub-contracted by Microsoft. When I looked it up there was the one I listed. These people were obviously in India, though...so I believe they are using the name of the US company that is real. I never called back and they have not deposited the check but I will alert my bank. In-Tech is the name and Revolusys is the payment system. I have not lost any money so far but they have my bank account numbers. I will probably have to change all of that.

I was on facebook, i clicked on a story and my computer screen froze up with a alert that my computer had been hacked and to call 833-913-1051 and a tech support person will help me, I called the # voices on the phone of middle east/Iranian voices i could barely understand them, they told me not to use my computer or phone for 48 hours they installed a screen called ultraview on my computer they offered to call my financial establishment on their secure line trying to get my debit card information they said that a child porn site used my card they called my debit card co, while I was on hold, they were recording the voice and prompts to sound like they were on line then they transferred me to another middle east person as security saying that they could no stop this charge I would have to reverse the charge to get it removed ..I knew at this point they were scammers phone # associated 425-588-0271, 425-419-1015, 888-642-7676, 425-660-9664, 425-441-0754, 1833-913-1051

I was told that my IP address on my computer was being used in India. And that someone had asked us to all vital information from my computer. I was then asked to spend $200 or $349 on software protection.

- Waipahu, HI, USA

I got a call from 786-438-4291 someone saying that they were from Microsoft Tech Support and that I had to pay for remote access but I had to pay via an Itunes giftcard.

- Pearl City, HI, USA

I got a call that my computer has a virus.  I already heard that it's a common scam and I don't even have Windows.

- Metairie, LA, USA

The phone ID says number unavailable. There are no numbers just 0s.

Once you answer there is no one there and they do not leave a message on a recorder.

If you have a land line computer hook up, all it takes is for the phone to be answered by a person or a machine and the people involved in this can get into your computer. They changed my passwords and stole information from my accounts.

I changed everything from e-mail addresses to bank accounts.

They tried it again this past week. They call 5-6 times a day until they can get in, after hearing the phone ring and no one there most people will pick it up to tell whom ever to stop calling. They know this.

They will keep trying until you change your phone number or as I did. I unplugged the

computer for a week and they stopped calling. After I unplugged I did receive one more call but since the line was not hooked up they moved on. I can use my computer again.

You have to unplug from the land line in the wall and from the router and totally unplug the computer from the outlet.

Just thought someone should know this is going on. Maybe it will help someone else who has had this happen or prevent it from happening to some one else.

Person called to inform consumer said they have error on computer and instructed him to go to his computer. The consumer knew it was a scam.
