This happened to me and about seven other young men. You get contacted for a seasonal painting job. You apply, interview, and fill out all the new hire forms, including tax forms. That is how personal information could be stolen as you need to provide forms of ID, SSN, so forth. Everything seems above bored up till this point. What happens next is you do their training and they say they will get you set up with a time card on the job. First they need help with door to door marketing to get more jobs and they will pay based on the hours they track via an app you install for the job and they will pay you bonuses for interest and sign-ons. Already shady but not the first time a job does something like this. Issue is they manager ****** ***** will go around and underbid all the places you got interested later so they don't have to pay you bonuses then since you didn't get anything she goes in and undoes your hours so she doesn't have to pay you. On top of that when you asked when and where to show up for the painting you are supposed to do she ghosts you so that you still can't get hours. There were multiple guys who figured her out, but only after she had been using them for free labor for weeks. Lastly, considering the shady nature of everything up to this point, I would only assume they would also sell our identifiable info for more money.
