I contacted James initially via instagram because I wanted to purchase a puppy. He told me puppies were $400 to reserve and $850 total, or $1000 with shipping. I purchased the puppy from him and paid him through Zelle. The email used was [email protected]. I paid him $1000. He said the puppy would be on the way to me the next day. The next day there was a hiccup but he assured me she'd be on the way the next day. The next day I received and email from the shipping company, Super Global Express, saying I needed to pay $1,490 for insurance but it would be refunded when the puppy arrived. I paid and they said she was on the way. This is the tracking info: https://superglobalexpress.com/tracking.php and tracking code is SHE2856389. Next thing I know the website says she is in Washington state when I am in New York State. Then they told me I had to pay another $1,500 for a CITES certificate so the puppy can travel out of Washington state. I refused to pay the whole amount and requested the "breeder" pay some. He said he paid $500 and I paid the rest. The puppy was then on the way to NYC. The next day I got another email (all emails attached below) saying I just had one final payment and checkpoint of $1,820 for the USDA certificate. I again, refused to pay the entire amount, and ended up splitting the payment with the breeder, or so I thought. He said the puppy was on it's way to me. Following this, I could no longer get in touch with James. His phone number (252-385-3291) was no longer active. The number on the instagram page (704-251-9851) also does not work. The instagram page doesn't exist anymore but I still have all of our texts and messages. The email on instagram is [email protected]. He also asked that the last deposit I send go to Cooper Mills, his son, and [email protected]. This person and their "shipping" partners are total scammers. I have filed complaints with the FTC, BBB, my bank, and local law enforcement and hope these people are stopped. It's criminal activity and they won't get away with it.
