Clear Path Automotive Reports & Reviews (6)

Clear Path Automotive is a fraudlent scam, working with Matrix Payment Solutions, who seems to be happy supporting payments for scam companies. Clear Path doesn't even have a website, and initially lied saying they were calling from my car dealership (they were not), said it was a one-time payment of $240 and instead billed me $240/mo until I realized it. After hanging up on me once, I finally got a nice person on the phone who seems to work at a call center, but said he can manage a refund. We will see if this happens... I am contacting my CC company just in case. The company feels like a dodgy scam set up to launder money for organized crime.

I received a card in my mail about my car purchase. It had the make, model and other info on it and I was under the impression that this was something from the dealership so I called. This was from Clear Path Automotive. I spoke to the sales rep briefly and decided to purchase a policy.

I never received anything from Clear Path but started having all sorts of miscellaneous auto charges on my bank statements followed by fraudulent charges from all over the US.

I have looked further into this policy and started finding all types of reviews on them being a scam and a fraud. This also stated via the BBB website.

I called Clear Path who hangs up on me repeatedly. I finally get someone very unprofessional to answer named Jackie with screaming kids in the background who is the rudest person I have ever encountered as far as “reputable” companies should be concerned. She first refused to give me her name, refused to let me speak to a manager and then hangs up on me repeatedly when I told her I am concerned about being scammed and there being fraudulent charges on my account. After she hangs up on me again, I get a call back from a “Kelly” claiming to be the supervisor who also sounds very unprofessional and claims she will cancel this account but have not attempted to work with me to refund me for the hundreds of dollars they have stolen from my account. I have now had to turn my credit card off and start a fraud investigation.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS COMPANY. They’re not legitimate. They are scamming people. They are rude. They’re not professional whatsoever and I believe they’re not protecting or even jeopardizing the security of their customers. They should be investigated and put out of business.

- Daly City, CA, USA

The key to this was a call from Toyota and it was Amy asking if I was interested in extended warranty. It quickly transferred to another (a man) who began talking about extended warranty. I believed I was talking to Daly City Toyota where I have taken my car for air bag recall and have actually spoken with Amy for the appointment. I now believe the scammers somehow used her recorded voice or she was personally involved.

He was jabbering about 4 year extended warranty and I gave him 150.00 deposit with my debit card. He said if

I cancelled I would only get 75.00 back.

The total debt was roughly 2700.00 making monthly payments of 144.17 for until paid off.

A few days later I received notification from Matrix Payment Solutions powered by MEPCO with the billing info. I also received a booklet about the Auto Club I was now joined to. I realized I was scammed and felt awful.

I called my bank and they sent me a new debit card.

I sent Mepco a letter revoking authorization for automatic recurring payments from my account.

I combed through the pamphlet I was sent from the auto club and found the cancellation information and mailed the letter to cancel.

Now MEPCO is mailing me monthly bills for payment. I fear that it could hurt my credit score with non-payment.

I have a copy of the letter I sent to MEPCO but cannot find the pamphlet or the copy of the letter I sent to Auto Club.

The pamphlet did look outdated and the address to cancel was in Florida.

How can I get MEPCO off my back? I have received no services or products and I did all the right things to cancel.

HELP!

I am not concerned about the $150.00 deposit

I to have been scammed by not just clear path auto but a place called my mechanics and I'm into them for $3100 and am just disgusted every time I call I get the run around they even put the wrong Vin number on my policy I get hung up on or transferred told to call a different number I've also been cussed out by the roadside assistance I don't know what to do or if I'll get reimbursed but someone needs to do something about this

Hello,

I am currently having a similar problem although I have not been able to contact ClearPath Automotive to even cancel. I was only able to reach Mepco who canceled my recurring payments. I no longer have the mail they sent with the info so I can't refer to that.

Any suggestions on what to do? I feel awful as well and I can't wait to be done with this.
