The scammer contacted my daughter via Instagram my daughter is an influencer and she has recently been getting contacted by different companies especially athletic companies to pose and to wear certain clothing and this person asked her if they could use her picture for marketing because he was an artist and he sold different paintings by sketching certain individuals or whatnot for companies he said he would pay her $300 for photo she sent him three photos he sent three different checks for $300 my bank is ******* *** **** the bank contacted my daughter solely which is a minor account but never contacted me the main person on the account especially because seem suspicious at a minor would get that much money sent to them throughout a certain amount of days. The bank told us there was a delay on the check because it seemed a little suspicious so before they deposited they wanted to check references and whatnot. My daughter then received an email from the bank stating that the check has cleared and the funds will be available on January 30th the day came and of course when the funds were available my daughter use the money to pay some bills and for other things. About 2 weeks later suddenly three reversals came into our account for $900 the bank reversed that money and held me responsible also in the meantime this was happening my daughter started getting suspicious and wanted to send some of the money back the bank only allowed her to send $500 back in the meantime and she did try to cancel the transactions but the bank told us that it was not allowed at the moment because they were going through process that was before they sent an email saying it cleared. So my daughter was able to send them $500 back and then they did the check reversals of $900 so that equals $1,400 that was actually lost that day that they did the check reversals someone suspiciously sent another $300 and then instantly reversed it the same day back to them so I don't know if they were doing some type of money laundering and how much information they had or if they had our account so I had to cancel the account and my daughter had some savings already and they took that money already and put it towards the loss and so now I owe the bank lots of money and they are holding me responsible for the full amount even though they were the ones that stated the check cleared and was available and the funds were available and they were the ones who never contacted me the main account holder to inform me of any of this activity that had been happening and I hadn't known about it because my daughter didn't mention it to me and it was her account it's called a teen account so that teens can learn to manage money so not only am I complaining about the scammer that got us I don't know where they originate from they just used the name of Charlie Wilson on Instagram but now that page is gone the phone number or the number that message my daughter and sent her threats and sent her pictures of mutilated women's bodies if she didn't pay them back their money and it's been quite a nightmare and the bank was not helpful at all so I'm also complaining against ******* *** they are FDI and see insured and they know that we were scammed and hacked and they didn't even know where that $300 on the day that reversals happened they don't know where that $300 came from and why it was removed instantly as well. They had thought I had done that transaction. So if someone could get back to me or if someone can get in touch with ******* *** regarding this I would greatly appreciate it I don't know how you would get any of my information based upon this is just informing you of the scam so I will try other ways to get assistance and file complaints against the scammer which I know can never be found and against ******* *** **** for treating me and my daughter like criminals practically at first and talking to me crazy on the phone not being helpful and I've been to come with the company since 2017 or 16 so to be with them for so long and have them treat me like they did it's just unfair and not logical in any way thank you
