I came across Cassi Humbler’s posting on Facebook Marketplace for a 2008 Honda Accord for $1200. I emailed her a received the below response:

My name is Cassi, happy to see you are interested in my 2008 Honda Accord LX. Let me give you a few details about it. Well maintained, 2.4L V4 engine, 97,948 miles, and automatic transmission Never had or needed any paint work, garage kept always, without any mechanical problems, electrically is working perfectly.The final price is $1200. Because of my divorce settlement, I now own this vehicle and I don't need it, because I have another one, so I'm trying to get rid of it as soon as possible. I also got a new job and moved to another city, and many other things have priority now. The title is legally under my name, clean and free of any liens or loans. I want to use eBay services for the safety of both of us. The financial part will be managed by them, which means that you will have a 7 days inspection period before committing to buy the car. Using eBay Motors, we are both 100% covered during the steps of this transaction. So, if you're interested in purchasing my car, just email me with your full name, full shipping address(street address, city, state and zip code) and phone number so I can notify eBay that you are being selected as my possible buyer and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure.

She included pics and details that were too good to be true so I googled her name and found she was indeed a scammer.

I almost had the same thing happen, found a vehicle on Facebook market place. This person stated they won vehicle in a divorce settlement and didn't need it, just wanted to get rid of it. $1200 for a Honda Accord also sounded to good to be true. I emailed the person and they sent "additional pics" of the car, looked amazing, made the $1200 cost even more hard to believe. For some reason I went back to the listing and noticed a different email address on it, different that from what I was already emailing! I then decided to google this name and found this entry! I am so sorry that this happened to you. Some people are just terrible!

6/3/21 saw an ad on Cowlitz County, WA, Marketplace for a 2003 Fleetwood RV for $2000. Knew it was too good to be true but when contacted the seller she just wanted to get rid of it as her husband had just passed away and she got relocated back to her hometown for work. Went ahead and was invoiced through what I thought was ebay support department and when I saw that they wanted gift cards in lieu of money I contacted them to ask about this type of transaction. Was told the seller had wanted this type of transaction. Was then advised of the date and time of delivery of said vehicle and of course nothing happened. I sent messages to both the seller and what I thought was ebay with no response from anyone. After always just "replying" to the ebay people when collecting this information I see that their email address they used was [email protected], errors in this address. I feel like a complete fool and do not want them to scam more people
