I received a call from Eugene Evans at Business Brokers International LLC who knew my name and some details about our Palace Resort membership. I suspected it was a scam so I let them send me an offer and countered with a higher offer, which he said was accepted. He said they secured the funds in an account at Citibanamex Cross Border Account Division (statement attached). Then, he told me I would need to secure a Foreign Investor Permit in order to sell the property that's in Mexico, which would cost me $4,000 to $6,000. I asked for a list of previous customers, and he said it would take some time to get that together.

In the meantime, I found several scam reports with a similar approach. I also read their website carefully and noticed that there were many grammatical errors and misspellings. I asked them to cancel the transaction immediately.
