Received voicemail telling me that another attempt will be made to issue out a summons. At the end of the message the person stated that if I do not respond legal proceeding will take place without my knowledge. The message ended with a woman using my full name and telling me that I have been notified.
I did call the number and was told that it was the California office. The guy who answered looked up the "case number" and said if was a credit card debt and that it did't seem to be a big deal they were hired to close out the account and I would be served papers in two to three weeks. I do not have any business with the specific lender he mentioned.
Finally, I received a call the other day from someone attempting to collect a small debt that was during a previous marriage 22 years ago. Not sure if they're connected but be wary.

I was contacted for the first time on 3/22/2022. The company claimed that I was being sued for a credit card debt that I had stopped paying on in 2000. I needed to immediately pay them $3000 or an initial payment of $1500 with payments of $100 a month until I reached the balance owed, over $7000. They claimed that a process server had been to my house twice to serve me but was unsuccessful. They claimed that even though I was married to someone different now, they would garnish my wages, my current husband’s wages, and put a lien on my vehicle. They told me I didn’t have the time it would take to get something from the credit bureau to prove it was my debt because I would be in court before it could get here.
