I had been let go from my job and was applying to jobs online. This company posted a Transcription job and I applied. I got a few emails asking for some online typing tests to be completed, which I did. I was then offered the job and told I needed to purchase computer equipment for my employment that was starting soon. They sent me a digital check to front the money, and told me I needed to pay the technology vendor for my equipment. That check cleared and I received the money. Once I sent the most money I could at one time ($2,500), the initial check was revoked and I never got my equipment, further communication, or my money back. I have email receipts, they have a legitimate website, and they posted this job offer on LinkedIn/Indeed. Their emails had a real web domain, and it all seemed legitimate. So, in my time of financial need, they scammed me out of thousands of dollars and I had to break my lease of my apartment that I could no longer afford.
