Americraft Cookware/Kitchencraft Cookware/Cooking Show Host Reports & Reviews (1)

I am the wife of a military veteran who got scammed by this company. We just got out of the army and barely have any money to get by. My husband applied to an online job listing by Americraft and was contacted by the ceo of the company, Mr. Hurley, then trained under the co founder, Mark. They called us numerous times to get us started in their commission based business.

Because we were looking for a house and interested in the VA loan for one, Mr. Hurley negotiated that he would be paying us a salary of $35,000 annually and while my husband were training he would receive $600 for every week he put in. Americraft had my husband drive out to knoxville for a 4-day showing during the weekend to train under Mark. Mr. Hurley agreed to refund any gas, food, and lodging required during the time my husband would be training. My husband bought gas, he ate food, and he paid for lodging. receipts available.

The ceo and the co founder were fully aware of our financial situation and took advantage of a military veteran with 90% disability. They called my husband after 4 days of training, the day after Mark left for Virginia and fired him for being on his phone too much but that was not the case. They had him do manual labor and my husband was in pain with his disabilities. We believe that my husband was fired for his disabilities and that Americraft is targeting military veterans.

Now Americraft refuses to pay any refunds they agreed upon. My husband is an amazing person and was wrongfully taken advantage of by this company. We do not expect to retrieve any money we put into this job but it would be nice if we got it back. I just want to make sure that any future potential employees know this experience and how this company makes promises they don't keep.

They took us to a paid dinner, they promised wonderful traveling experiences and a company trip if we made enough sales. They seemed so sweet but they turned out to be crooks and took advantage of my husband's full availability and manual labor that was putting excruciating pain on his knees, the reason the army medically discharged him. He went into the job not realizing they would have him do manual labor. He thought that he would be conducting shows and entertaining sales.

The company didn't email the necessary documents to complete the hiring process and lied when they said they did. We haven't received any emails with necessary documents. These people are specifically hiring military veterans and taking advantage of them. My husband isn't the only one i'm sure. They spoke so much about hiring military veterans but now I believe they were only "hired" for one 4-day weekend for "training."

The dollars lost below includes all food, lodging, and equipment. My husband is still in knoxville and was told to wait there to see which show he would be going to next. He will be driving home today so i expect him to buy more gas.

food: $87.39 (for the show production and his own consumption)

lodging: $84.40(asked to wait in TN for next destination)

gas: $28.07(still has to drive home. will probably spend another $20)

Mr. Hurley's personal cell: 3524068411
