We received a letter with the letterhead "CARES-ACT Economic Stimulus Plan" with a depiction of a Corona Virus. The letter stated that we may qualify for a reduction in mortgage interest from the government CARES Act. We called the number and were told we qualify. We submitted 2 payments totaling $2155.00 with multiple documentation to what turned out to be Allied Legal Assistance. Their reply was a list of the same documentation we sent them to be submitted to our lender. We were denied because as it turns out the Covid related mortgage reduction program had expired over a year prior. Allied closed our case and told us via a very unprofessional looking letter that they would not refund our money.
