My husband was contacted today on his cell by this number 435-222-0082. The caller asked if he would be "there" tomorrow at 9:00 because he was going to be served papers and be taken to court. When he asked why they said "oh you have not received any information about this? Call this number: 888-212-5845. He did and then the drama of you owe $1245 from a old Citibank debt that was sold to our agency for collection. We are going to take you to court but if you pay us within 24 hours you will not be taken to court. If we take you to court you will owe $2500 in attorneys fees. They sent him an email after he gave them his email :\ showing an account number and demanding payment with 24 hours. I called Citibank. No recored of this account number linked to his name. We sent a reply requesting proof. He does not have any bad debt listed on his credit report. He does not recall ever having a citibank account. I smell a rat.
