approaching for a loan. This is completely a scam. Interestingly the message addressed with my name correctly.

Suspected phishing attempt. I recently applied for a loan, and shortly after my loan was approved, I received the text message shown below. I contacted the loan provider directly, and they confirmed that the message did not come from them and advised me to report it.

I received this text message

"Hi Paul, This is Mia with ATO. Following up about your personal loan request. Trying to connect you with our loan officer regarding your approval. Txt END to opt out. Otherwise, can I call you now? If the loan is no longer needed, let me know."

Message sent once again (keep calling / messaging, even though I delete and report their different numbers) at 2:58pm on 9-17-25. Hi *****, Mia here from ATO to review your loan options. Do you have a few minutes now to discuss your application? I have never filed an application with them and they have called and texted my number, on various days, for quite awhile now. Please have them stop!
