I purchased a new car 5 months ago and it came with a factory warranty of 60k miles. I received a letter in an envelope that looked similar to a tax document. It asked me to call a number within days with my VIN and current mileage and states that I "have not contacted" them and "by neglecting to activate" my coverage I would "be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs" after my factory warranty expires. My car has about 5k miles on it, and the factory warranty expires after 60k miles.
