I received a voicemail on 7/25/2023 saying there was a complaint against me and that I needed to contact this law firm at 877-879-1863 with case #994988. My brother received a call from them shortly thereafter. They told him it was a civil suit against me and for me to call Northstar Law Group at the above # and case #. I called them back on 8/7/2023 and gave them the case # and the woman, “Gina Priest”, first wanted to verify who I was and she read off the last four of my social and my address, which I said yes to, and then she asked for my DOB which I gave to her. She then said there was a civil suit against me for a Discover card in my name that was charged off in 2018 in the amount of $1,132.11. I told her that that has to be identity theft because I have never owned a discover card. She tried to talk me into a settlement, which I actually thought about doing, but decided against and told her I needed to reach out to my lawyer. She told me that if it went to court it would be over $6000 in court costs and fees. She told me to call her back by 5 pm to prevent it from being filed at 1-877-879-1863 ext 445. After I hung up I talked to my son about it and he told me to check my credit reports for the discover card and that it may be a scam. When I checked my Experian credit report of course there was no discover card but there was a hard inquiry by “The Calvary Firm” 38625 Calistoga Dr, Ste 1, Murrieta CA 92563 # 844-342-0056 and this inquiry has also changed to “ACPA” 555 W Country Club Ln, Escondido CA 92026. I googled the Calvary firm and found this website scampulse.com with The Calvary Firm listed and many people reporting the same incident/scam that I am going through with these people. I have frozen my credit reports and put them on fraud alert and filed a dispute with Experian for the hard inquiry but so far they have not removed it. I have also filed complaints with my local police dept, FTC.gov and the fbi at IC3.gov

Never heard of these clowns. Never received any mail from these misfits.

I saw a "hard" credit request on my credit report that dates back to the time they were harrassing and threatening me to collect a debt that I did not owe.

They wanted my SS number which I refused AND started rattling off details on my credit history.

That ping against my credit lists the phone # and address listed by this company.

Now I have to wrangle with the credit bureau(s) to get that alleged credit request off my report.

I received a call from 216-220-6624 saying the person was calling about a complaint and to call 877-856-6840 to speak with someone. I called number and spoke with allegedly a Robert Goldman from The Phoenix Group he brings up 20 yr old information about a car saying in 2017 TFS filed a suit and is taking me to court. I advised them I have not dealt with TOYOTA in over 20 years. He tried to say they taking me to court for 8857.00 I told them I know they are trying to scam and stop calling. He said a local third party must have called. He then mentioned Bryant & Stratton which is not a law firm or collector in my state. He said well we will see you in court. I looked to see if their were any civil suits against me and their are none. I tried to google the numbers the 216 number comes up Miles Construction and the 877# comes up untitled with fraud warning. Within 5 minutes of talking to them I get an alert from my credit reporting agency I look at it and someone under Altman consulting and The Calvary Firm tried to get information to open accounts. I disputed this with my credit agency. I have been experiencing these calls off and own since my identity was stolen in February of this year.

These people just called me and had all my information DOB, SSN, ADDRESS ETC. Said i charged $7000 with Bank of America in 2006 and they were trying to serve me papers. Soon as I got off the phone they ran my credit. I called them back and asked why they ran my credit and they swore it was not them. Its all lies. Now im worried and not sure what to do

Received a call from a person in pic number one, who had an my info name bd, ssn, address, etc about a supposed online credit debt. Then two hours later a new hard inquiry from the Calvary Firm aka ALTMAN CONSULTING PARTNE. Experian told me to contact the number on the report but all I get is a voicemail. Well I guess I should've keep the Experian subscription that would've at least had my credit locked.
So many scams
So many scams

I received a voicemail message with reference number and stated it was a legal matter. Moments after I missed their call, my daughter and ex-husband both got calls from them and notified. I pay my bills and am on top of all of my accounts so it seemed weird to begin with. I returned their call since they were harassing my family. The guy named "John" said that he is a mediator and I had a pending civil suit with Wachovia bank/Wells Fargo from 2013 for $4151. Well I knew that was fake since I've only banked with the credit union and bank of America. He said initially that he had my last 4 of SSN and verified and had my date of birth. I confirmed. After I confirmed he suddenly had my entire social and address. I told him that I would fight this in court so send the papers. He became frustrated and I ended the call. I checked my email and had an Experian alert that an unapproved inquiry was done today from Altman Consulting Partners. I googled the name and address and found this thread. It's a shame that people take the time to do this to honest, hardworking citizens. I am currently locking my credit and filing a dispute for the inquiry.

I got a weird call and voice-mail from some number, claiming that there's a judgment against me, and blah blah, the only part that was odd was that they read off my address, that gives me the creeps.

I have no dings on my credit nor owe anyone anything, so that's really weird. Of course I'm not going to call the number back, either.

So then, I'm at work and my mom calls me, shortly before I'm about to leave. They called her too! At this point I'm beyond pissed because again I know that I don't owe anyone any money my credit score is almost 700 and I'm fine. So I called the number back ready to go off on them. It's these people pretending to be lawyers from Texas filing a "lawsuit" supposed debt that wasn't discharged on my bankruptcy four years ago. I plainly knew exactly what was discharged and told them I knew they were full of crap that I'm going to be filing a report with the FCC and I'm also going to be contacting my attorney. A day or so later, this company, "Calvary firm" is snooping on my credit report. I've contacted the credit bureaus and flagged my information. This....is absolutely ridiculous. I've also filed a report on them. These people need to be shut down. It's scary.

The same exact thing happened to me! I got a phone call that morning from TFG… rude as hell and I told them I never had an account that they were referring to. I ended up just hanging up. Later that day I received an alert from my credit card company (Discover) about a new inquiry. I called Discover and they tried to assist me by calling Experian but they’re not understanding that these scammers are actually using names of reputable companies to help pull off these scams! I even told them about this site but it’s like they aren’t believing me. I don’t know what to do.

- Concord, CA, USA

SCAM ALERT-

I received a phone call from "Randy" at Legal Processing Service, stating that he is trying to deliver legal documents to me. He gave a phone number and my case file number for TFG Law group who is the office responsible. He gave me his call back number to follow-up for delivery. I did eventually call back the number (different than the caller ID originally), and asked him for the address to his company. He told me he can't give me that but that I can googel it. Eventually he hung up on me.

Progressing forward- I called the phone number given to me by Randy for TFG law group and was told that according to my case file I had some unpaid medical bills that were sent to their office by "Health Management Association". That I breached a legal binding contract and defrauded Yada yada (can't remember the words). They stated the the lawer Mr. Schaffer who is in charge of my case states it has something to do with not receiving an out of pocket cost for a medical bill.

He could give me no details about date of service or location, siting he was bound by HIPPA and couldn't violate that.

Stated that the company had sent me two noticed in the mail already trying to notify me of the lawsuit. He said they weren't sent certified, that they're not required to do that.

He stated the Mr. Schaffer felt it must be an accident that I missed payment so they're offering me a settlement fee of $1382.82 or I could wait for the legal documents to be served to me and then I will have to go to court and if I loose the dispute I'll be responsible for $3,132.22 of fees on top of the original bill. Stated the settlement was only an option until the papers are served..

They had my full social security number, DOB, addresses (the last 3 I lived at) & I foolishly confirmed my current address. I also foolishly gave them my email address to send over documents so I could review them. Those documents never came.

When I looked up TFG law firm they're out of Wisconsin, I Live in CA. They confirmed that they've been getting reports of scammers using their name to try and collect medical bill debt.

Later in the same day I had a hard credit inquiry on my credit report from-

THE CALVARY FIRM

Address:

38625 Calistoga Dr Ste 110, Murrieta, CA 92563-4887

Phone:

(844) 342-0056.

I called the number, there was no answer and no official voice-mail set up.

When I googled The Calvary Firm, ScamPulse.com reported others having the same incident occurring with other people. The Calvary Firm & same address, running credit reports and the incidents are associated with phone calls from TFG law group about unpaid medical bills, & couriers trying to deliver legal docs.

This is a scam, just hang up, if it's important they'll leave a message or serve you in person not over the phone.

I am now a victim of identify information theft. All my credit accounts are now frozen & I've filed reports with the FTC as well. What a waste of a perfectly beautiful day.

They got all of my info as well and told me the same story about the HIPPA laws as to why they could not tell me where the debt was coming from after the verified all of my info which they had all of it I stupidly settled a debt for 300 bucks which was originally like 1700 or something like that I figured it was legit since I do have a lot of medical debt but the. I started googling these companies and non of them exists ! So I called me credit card company and filed the charges as fraud and got my money back of dealt with deb collector’s plenty of times but these guys got me good

223I came here yesterday to file a complaint about a company called The Frontier Group who called me yesterday, alleging that I owe over 3,000 in debt to HSBC. The initial call was placed by DSS, they left a voice mail inquiring about my ex husband. I called them back with the intention of asking them to stop calling me, only for them to tell me they were actually looking for me and not my ex. They claimed my ex was only a point of contact. They read 5 digits from my SSN and requested for the last 4 digits before they could talk to me. I stupidly gave the digits out of anxiety and confusion. I asked them to provide me the service HSBC rendered to me, they refused to disclose it, saying they already bought the account from HSBC and it's no longer up to HSBC. They claim to be working with The United Law Firm and are in the process of taking me to court. Mind you, immediately, I gave my last 4 of my SSN, I was placed on hold for a few secs. The guy came back and read out accounts on my credit that are still open. He claimed I have been owing HSBC since 2014. Meanwhile this acct is not showing up on my report but he claimed it was showing on his. He threatened to call my work and ask them to start paying them a certain percent of my earnings and also take me to court. He was so aggressive and rude. I totally have no acct with HSBC and suspected foul play. I immediately got off the phone and called all 3 credit bureau to get credit freeze. So, today I got an alert from one of the bureaus that The Calvary Firm ran my credit report. I do not know this firm and have no idea who they are. I have no doubt my identity has been compromised and I have placed a fraud alert on my credit report and plan to take some other steps. This is really disturbing, these companies should be investigated because I have no doubt they don't really exist
