I am so thankful I didn't send money to this person. We said we wouldn't pay until the dog was at our house or in our possession. We live an hour away from Bristol VA and offered to pick up the puppy ourselves. They said "NO" due to covid. But they would deliver after we put the money on Zelle. We said "NO" due to scammers. These are the puppies pics that were sent

Thank you so much for this. I reached out to Brandon Coolman myself and thought this was all too perfect. I received the exact same email but for a puppy named Chase. He responded with every question I had. Sent a video of the "parents" which was too perfect. Also, asked for a reference and he sent me a # saying the Adams family from New York whom he sent a puppy 2 days ago, when in the video it clearly wasn't an " Adam's" family. They were middle eastern. I'm so glad you posted this and made it clear to me that this was a scam. Sometimes even though you see the red flags you are too emotionally involved to think clearly. Thanks again for saving me so much stress, aggravation and money. I'm a single mom and it has been hard enough to save up enough money to get a puppy for my kids.

I reached out to the website (www.stargoldenretrieverpuppies.com) about a 10 week old golden pup and was contacted by a Brandon Coolman (email: [email protected]) who claimed to be located in Bristol, VA. After a short email conversation, he said he would need $750 sent via Zelle or Cashapp and would then immediately take the puppy to the local airport to be shipped to me. Something about the mention of Zelle and Cashapp threw a red flag for me and I looked further into possible scams involving this website and came across this page that specifically mentioned the person I was interacting with. You guys saved me a pretty penny, loads of stress, and the pain of an apparently non-existent puppy at the end of it all. So, thank you for that! To add to everyone's claims, the photos from the website and the additional photos and videos sent via email appear genuine. It even looks like the same people in all the photos (specifically a younger, maybe twenty-something brunette woman) and you even catch a glimpse of part of her face in one of the videos. That led me to believe it might actually be a legit seller, as most scam-artists that I've seen can't manage to get a series of images/videos from the same source like that. After I found this site, I did a "Whois" lookup on the domain and it is registered out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada ***not*** Bristol, Virginia, United States. At this point, I ceased communication and decided to add my experience here to hopefully help others.

The scammer at email [email protected] said he had a golden retriever puppy for sale. After some communication and convincing, we sent the money. Then we got an email from a shipping company stating the puppy was dropped off but couldn't ship until we paid $900-$1000 for insurance and if we didn't send the money we would be charged with puppy abandonement and fined $50,000.

They advertised affordable Golden Retriever Puppies. I fell in love with a little female and e mailed them for the price. It was too good to be true. I should of known better. I sent money for the dog. Next day shipping company, which is also a scam, Elite Shipping, called and said I needed pet insurance. Totally refundable. I paid. Within a few hours, they needed me to buy or rent a carrier designed to keep the pets temperature normal in the event of incumbent weather. I paid begrudgingly, I wanted my pup and it too...was refundable upon delivery. Today I got notice of even more fees....I still do not have my dog and am out over 3 thousand dollars.

I paid $650.00 via cashapp to Brandon Coolman who was selling a Golden Retriever puppy online. He said he delivered the puppy to the courier service he uses, Elite Courier. He said they would contract me to ship the puppy air to me. I then got an email from Elite with an invoice for 1,150.00 which they wanted me to pay in order to get pet travel insurance. He said I had to pay via cashapp and 95% would be refundable after delivery of the pup. I told him them I was not aware of needing pet insurance and I wasn't going to pay it. I contacted Mr Coolman and he said it was normal and he had used this courier before. I refused to pay the additional funds after discovering online that Elite Courier was a scam. They get the added fees and never reimburse. Mr Coolman then said he would pay 1/2 of the fee if I sent him 500.00 more. I asked for a current video or facetime to prove the puppy was okay as it had been at the courier company all day. The puppy was 10 weeks old as described to me. Mr Coolman went to shipping company and took a picture of crates but couldn't show me the pup. I told him I wouldn't pay any additional funds without seeing proof of the puppy. He then stopped communicating. I have asked for a refund which he has not sent nor responded to. I believe he was part of a scam selling puppies online but not delivering.

For a few weeks now I haven been researching and attempting to get a hold of a puppy. I found a website that showed a great puppy for a great price that offered reasonable shipping if you were not near them. I was having pretty consistent email traffic between them and the website seemed very well taken care of. I was only able to email them initially. When asked for payment, some red flags started to show. They gave me their “Zelle” information which used a different email address with a foreign name. Red flag #1, but it is America and i let it slide and unfortunately sent them the money in hopes of finally getting the dog I want. That’s when I went back to rethink my decision, and noticed a strange email address different from the one I was communicating with for them to receive payment. They used “protonmail.com” which I googled and it happens to be a Switzerland email address. Biggest red flag. So then I emailed them demanding a phone number to contact them, they replied via text to my phone number which I had given in my application in the beginning. I called them, and when I started to ask them more information, the man became very defensive and ended up hanging up on me. He did say he would refund me in 24 hours, but Zelle is instant, and he has the capability of refunding me immediately. They are not accredited by the BBB, and their reason being is that their type of breeding is a hobby and therefor not accredited. But on the website it does not seem as though it is a “hobby.”
