I received a text saying "We've redesigned our website to serve you better." There is a link to click that supposedly links to the social security administration website. They said they will deposit a payment of $4841.00 into my account. I did not click the link.

Scammer called stating they were from Social Security and mentioning she could get my benefits raised. She asked for personal information and setup a future phone appointment where she was going to request my bank details. After I realized this was a scam and did not pick up the phone she attempted to call over 5 times. Her name was Janis and the number she told me to call back on was (866) 331-7088 w/ ext. 22472. Traced the number that called me back to a Eric Zawilski who lives in Puyallup, WA. I received two different letters from this individual that had two completely different letterheads that looked nothing like what I usually receive from Social Security. Additional numbers after research connected to this scam setup are as follows: (866) 331-5532, (509) 838-7486, (253) 597-8308, (253) 330-7903, (509) 334-7634, (253) 588-9593, (253) 592-9221, (253) 576-5616, (509) 838-7486, and (253) 365-0004

This is alarming considering that whoever would do this is someone that would target elders, and especially people with disabilities who are very unlikely to detect this very sophisticated operation and most likely to lose their benefits to these scammers.

The scammer said they have an order to suspend my social security number, as it was used in “illegal activity” and I asked what illegal activity and they said money laundering and drug trafficking and then they hung up. I tried calling back and it said they weren’t receiving calls.

I was contacted that the federal government had a fraud case that I was linked to. I was told not to hang up and to press 1to hear about my case. Someone was pressing charges against me. If I didn't contact within two business days I would be in trouble. Automated. Then forwarded to a busy call center. The guy answered as the Federal Social Security Department. The guy seemed confused as to why I was calling. Pretended to look up my account. I said that I didn't have a case number like he requested. He then proceeded to ask for for my name and address so I hung up.

Received call today on my cell phone from (281)617-0366 Houston TX but nobody answered so I hung up(3:05 PM) and 13 minutes later received a call from (281)803-3729, who said, my Social Security Number had been compromised and if I wanted to talk to an officer, press a number - I immediately hung up.

The caller said to press 1 to be connected to the concern dept. if I do not my social security number will be blocked forever. I called the number that was on my phone that came from the original call. My phone provider said it could not be connected as dialed. It was an international call please check my number and try again.

Received a call from a local number with a recorded message claiming my social security number was being deleted and forwarded to a live person answering “Social Security Service” asked what could she help me with. My response, “received a call”. She paused then hung up.

Received a phone call from #719-528--5920. Robotic voice warns me that my Social Security Number has been compromised and I should press a digit to be connected to staff that will give me the specifics. Instead of doing that I hung up. I then tried to find a free, truly 100 % free way to look the number up, with, yeah you guessed it, no luck. What they gave me were initials B M and Colorado State.
