I am concerned as to how they got my phone number and what else they may have of mine. I went to PayPal and tried to log in just to see if maybe I had an account in my early years. They did not recognize my email, name or phone number. So they got my phone from somewhere else I’m thinking

The scammer claimed that I purchased $599.99 in Bitcoin and gave me a number to call if it was not me. I didn’t call the number.

Received an email saying someone was trying to compromise PayPal account and asked way today many personal questions and then refused to allow anyone to speak to a supervisor and would hang up when asked. And when I called back they hung up on me again and refused to answer any of my questions or help me. I locked my accounts, but something seems off about this place.

I received an email telling me I am being invoiced on my Pay Pal account for an iPhone 13 Pro, 12 GB Sierra Blue for $699.88, dated 2/5/2024. I have order #, receipt # and transaction ID# if needed. Email message says: Dear Customer, we have noticed an unauthorized transaction from your Pay Pal account. If this transaction was not made by you, please call us to cancel this order. Otherwise your 699.88 will be charged today. Sincerely, Team PayPal

However, I do not have a Pay Pal account so do not know what they can charge. And I did not call for fear it was a ploy to get my personal information.

The body of the email says you’ve sent a payment of $758.85 to target retailer store in Dallas Texas, it provides a transaction number and a customer hotline number of 8882879324. It also states issues with this transaction, you may raise a dispute with the resolution center within the next 24 hours by contacting them additionally, in the email, it states when the file that you requested below becomes available you should receive it according to your order. I don’t even have a valid PayPal account. I have never ordered anything from target Ever, or this dollar amount.

I received an email from [email protected] giving product information and an order confirmation ID for a $326.69 paid and completed through PayPal. PayPal has no transactions through my account for 180 days. I called the number from the email (866) 441-0375. The man gave his person information as: Jason Williams , Job I.D. JW0657PY, San Jose, 2211 North St., California.

He pronounced San Jose as it is spelled, not properly. He gave me my email address and home address on the PayPal account and said the delivery is in Hawaii. When I told him I did not order the couch and I thought my PayPal account was defunct, he said it was active but he would refund the money and make sure my PayPal account was properly shut down. He had me download Alpemix onto my computer and open my security to he could access my screen. I did. He sent a ScamPulse.com complaint form for me to fill out and file. It was different than this form. He asked for a little personal info and then wanted me to log into my bank account so he could refund the money. He said he needed my computer IP address to do so. I did do it and then I hung up and called PayPal etc. and deleted all of the Alpemix information and apps, including in my system settings.

Received email to ******** about charges of 799.99 copy included here

- Grand Junction, CO, USA • Nov 29, 2023

I received an email with the following attachment. I was immediately aware this was a scam. I called the number to figure out how they were attempting to steal money or information. The responder asked me to go to my computer and search for dmk.info. They asked me once I was in that website to click on something that would lead me to another page. I believe they were trying to get remote access of the computer. I did not visit this website or click on anything. I then told them I was aware they were trying to scam me, and they immediately hung up.

Paypal Scam

We received an email from PayPal saying there was a payment due of 499.00 for a Springfield armory. We called the number in the email to say we didn’t make that purchase which led to them trying to give us the money back- instead they were taking money from us! Using an app called any desk and using money gram. Awful!!!

I got an email about a "Payment Receipt" stating that I will be charged unless I give them a call. I call and after the 3rd ring, I hang up. The number calls back immediately after I hung up. The man who appeared to sound like he's from India or Pakistan or some sort of middle eastern country. Anyway he tells me that someone has created an account under my name or email. Then he says to hold for a min while he checks something on his system. After a few seconds he comes back on. Then he asked for my name and asked me how to spell it and without thinking I gave him my first and last name. So he then tells me to go to Play Store and download this app called Team Viewer Quick Support. As I go to it I had a bad feeling about and decided not to download it. I also told him that the app wasn't downloading since I didn't have enough storage. He then suggested that I delete some games. I told him that I have alot of pictures and videos and stuff. He tells me that I need to delete some stuff in order to download the app. I then told him that I had to take of something real quick then would call him back. He said that people have my information and that I need to call back right away. He also asked when I would call him back. I told him I wouldn't call back later. Then I asked what time was it there and he said 4:00 there. He also said that they are available 24/7. I said ok and that I would call him back later then I ended the call.

I just received an email on PayPal letterhead that claims I had unusual activity and that PayPal is confirming my order of an iPhone X in the amount of $499.00 that will be charged in the next 24 hours if I don't contact the phone number above to dispute. It states that my checking account will be debited. First, I don't use PayPal and secondly, I would not order an iphone x when I have a business account with Apple and have an iphone 13. BE CAREFUL and DO NOT respond.

Got a email that said Bill and receipt

It was a photo not a email stating PayPal was taking $277.14 off my card I use in my PayPal account. I have not ordered anything so why is this. I went and took my card off the account and it stated they taking it out on the 18th

Stated "we've detected unauthorized activity. Log in and take the steps requested"

I received an email from "paypal" with an invoice for 2 purchases made. I logged into my paypal account on my laptop. There sat at the two unfamiliar charges. The phone number associated with the charges were 509 383 4049 and 509 392 4477. Because I was logged into my pay pal account, I felt like it was legit. Obviously was not. During the call, things started sounding questionable so did a quick search on the phone number which is how I found out it was a scam. Lesson learned. Thankfully, no money was lost and I immediately forwarded the email to Pay Pal. They removed the transactions. I reset ALL my passwords for every account I could think of associated with that compromised email account. I also blocked the email and phone numbers associated with this scam.
