I was getting kittens that needed to be rehomed and they were willing to it for free I just had to pay $ for the transportation cost. After sending pictures and videos and corresponding back and forth it seemed totally legit. It would cost $500 to send them, again, reasonable. I sent the money for the transportation but then they sent an email saying they needed $1400 to rent a crate that would be refunded to me when I got the kittens. That was my red flag. Now I'm getting no response from either party and I'm still on the phone trying to get my money back. This was a Xmas present for my daughter and they are heartless and terrible people. I should have known once I spoke to the person and they could barely speak english.

I’m being scammed right now as well. I lost 2,000. At first it was only supposed to be $400 for delivery. Then they told me they needed 1,000 to bring the puppy in a crate. And they wouldn’t bring her if she didn’t have a crate. I paid for the crate and they told me she would be here within a couple of hours. Once she quote got to “ Austin” they emailed be again saying the puppy needed shots since she wasn’t up to date. At first the said 600 but then they emailed and called saying I owe them $730 because they forgot to include tax. I was frustrated going back and forth on the phone with the both of them. The lady that gave me the dog never answered the phone and she stopped messaging me after a while. The guy insist my puppy would get dropped off once I sent him the $730. Luckily I came across this page and read what y’all had to say first before sending more money. I’m heartbroken that they did this to me. Do not use this company for anything at all!

I also am being scammed right now. My experience is exactly the same, only i’m Out $1800. For the crate. And they want another $1500 for insurance, all money to be paid by American Express gift cards. Meanwhile the “breeder” swears they are honest and all money is refundable upon receiving the puppy. I don’t actually know if there even is a puppy. My puppy was supposed to be a female havanese puppy 11 weeks old. Which I paid $750. for, and now they are trying to bleed me dry. I told the breeder to go get the puppy, and refund every last penny I spent so far. They told me if I left the puppy with the delivery service, I would be arrested and charged with puppy abandonment and abuse. Help!

They posed as a nice family who’s son just passed away from cancer. Their son had dogs that needed rehoming and was willing to have the dog delivered by a pet transport service. The service was $400 and was told I would receive an email with their website and billing info. The email was clearly not professional and they asked for PayPal to an individual account.

I was looking for a dapple dachshund puppy and I found a website showing a bunch of different people selling dachshund puppies. I found one I liked and contacted the seller and they got back to me the next day saying they had two puppies available, one being male, another being female that they were trying to re home because their son who was a breeder died of brain cancer and they were trying to find a good home. They told me they were basically perfect dogs, seeming too good to be true but I thought I was getting a really good deal. They were asking me a bunch of very personal questions of my precise location and my exact environment around me, making it seem like they actually cared. As soon as I sent my address, they said they would have the puppy ready on a flight right then when I said I wouldn’t be home until the 20th. Right after I told them I wouldn’t be home, they messaged me on the business email and I was no longer able to contact the other email because it said it didn’t exist. They sent me a legitimate looking email saying that she would be at my location tomorrow and all I had to do was pay $350 on a website called Zelle for shipping her since she was coming on a plane. I didn’t think anything of using Zelle since a lot of businesses have been doing online payments due to the pandemic. After the company messaged me saying I needed the payment to be completed, at around 3 pm before I was about to leave on a a 10 hour ride coming home, “John” messaged me off a text message to my number saying he was ready to drop her off and he needed my information again. I asked how long he thought it would take, and he said he was about to drop her off and she should be there by the next morning. After this, he wasn’t very consistent with his messages as much as the shipping company was. He didnt respond until I said that the company was trying to tell me they needed me to pay $1000 for a thermal crate for delivery and he reassured me his friend went through them and that they were legitimate. I got them to bring the price of the “thermal crate” to $500 because I told them I didn't have the funds. After he reassured me, he completely cut off ties with me and would not respond to texts or calls. I had to put $500 on a MyVanilla Card for me to be able to pay for the crate and had to send a picture of the front and back of the card. After I put the money on the card, he called yelling at me saying he couldn’t take that card even though he sent a picture of that exact card to get, but still went through with the transaction. He said everything was fixed and she should arrive by the next morning. She was supposed to be shipped out at 12:00 PM and right before it hit 12, he called again saying I needed to pay $400 for insurance or I wouldn’t get my $500 back in person since it was a deposit that I was supposed to get back when she got here. They also said if I didn’t get the insurance, I couldn’t get the puppy even though I was told she was already in Denver. I told him I absolutely cannot put that money on there, I don’t have that amount to my name. He started asking me what to do at that point, saying he could put her on hold until I had the money. I said there’s no way I’d be able to get that money at all since the $500 I sent was already supposed to be for bills. He then said he would try to figure out how to help me and then hung up on me. At this point, I was over the top suspicious. I called him back 15 minutes later and he said that all he was doing was waiting for my payment to continue. We argued for 10 minutes because I couldn’t pay that money and he started saying he could do it for $200. Then, he once again hung up on me saying he would figure it out but would text me saying that I needed to get $200 to figure it out. I told him I couldn’t do that and I wanted a full refund and he said, “no refund without the puppy.” I haven’t messaged anyone since then after doing research and seeing articles of puppy scams coming from Montana, so I decided to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau.
