Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received a fed ex package with only a check in the amount of $2,920.67. It was from a legitimate business L-Com Global Connectivity. I still have the Fed Ex package and check in my possession. I contacted the Accounts Payable department of this Company to confirm/deny that this check was issued. I spoke to the appropriate party and he stated that this check is suspicious and asked me to send him a copy of the check via e-mail. After the initial conversation and review of the check it was determined that this was sent to me as a scam. I am not sure how these accounts are getting hacked but my fear is if I would have deposited this check my bank account would have been next. If this check was sent to me surely this would be happening to others. The person that I spoke to from L-Com stated in an e-mail,which I have saved, that similar events have happened to them from time to time, perhaps this should be investigated.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

Did not see the warning signs. May 2016, oi was looking though craigslist and found a chevy 2010 equinox for $5,000. I contacted the seller and told and told me long paragraphs that she was being shipped overseas and what not so then she asked me to call eBay and they will do everything through there and that it was going to be processed though eBay. I had no clue that 3rd parties are usually scam so she asked me to put the money through ebay gift cards and send him pictures of the gifts cards thorugh email. Little did i know at that moment i was going to be scammed. Told me that the car was going to get sent to my location and after a week later I kept calling eBay and the same guy that went with m though the process wouldn't pick up. Flag 2.... he was the only ebay worker picking up MY calls. Turns out he did a fake eBay account which looked real to me. Ended loosing $5,000.... trying to forget about this is the hardest thing ever. Worst experience ever. Please be careful, IF IT LOOKS TOP GOOD TO BE TRUE, DONT DO IT PLEASE.

Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

Two males came to my residence and stated that all they needed was my name and phone number and I would have a chance to win free gas. I cut conversation short and stated my disinterest. One of the males handed me a ticket and when I stated I was not interested he took back the ticket. They were walking and I'm not sure where they had parked I did notice they didn't stop at the houses next door to me.

( One of the males just stood in the back on my sidewalk while the other one spoke--they appeared not legit)

Type of a scam Tech Support

Customer purchased a computer from QVC -  On the bottom of the computer is a sticker with a number advising to cal if they have any issues - A year after purchase the computer "locked up" so they called the number - They told them they had been hacked and for $539.00 they unlocked the computer and could put an "alert" on their system which would notify them should there be any further activity - lifetime coverage.  recently it locked up again so they called the number for assistance and they were able to unlock.  They received a call today stating they could refund him the $500.00 if he goes to walmart, purchases an iTunes card and puts $100.00 then call them back with the number.  She says it looks like the same number theyve called from the beginning that was already on a sticker on the computer at the time of purchase from QVC

Email from scammer is below:

I setup a small malware in a adult website (adult video porn website) and you watched the videos (to have some fun, you know what im talking,).

While you were watching the video my virus started to work as a R-D-P (remote desktop viewer) along with a small keylogger and i had full access to your device screen and camera.

My malvware also collected all your contacts (from email, social network, etc...)

After this i started to record your screen and your camera at the same time. And what i did? I created an double-screen video (half side your camera watching porn video and half side your screen record).

As you might be thinking i had a lot of trouble doing all this.

You might be worried at this point but you dont need to be, its simple to fix all this mess, all you have to do is pay me U$360, this value is enough to keep our little secret safe.

You will make my payment through Bitcoin (if you dont know how to buy Bitcoin search on google, its fast and easy).

The Bitcoin address you have to send the money is: 12L2XNbnPdaAoCCkn8q1HjfXMXVi5WaMYA

You only have 24 hours to send my money after reading this e-mail (i setup an special tracking pixel in this message and i will know when you read this email).

If i do not receive my money i will send your double-screen video to all contacts that i collected from you (including friends, co-workers, family, etc...)

If you are wise enough and send my money all the material will be destroyed and you will not hear from me again.

On my cell phone, I received 2 calls from an unknown number, and did not answer. On the 3 call, I did pick up the call, and the caller asked "Can you hear me?". I answered "Yes, but I have nothing to speak to you about." I immediately remembered hearing about this scam, and regretted that I answere "Yes" instead of hanging up.
