On May 14, 2019 at 1:21pm, I received an iMessage from an unknown number that said "Sorry, I can't talk right now". When I inquired who the message was from the person sent me another message claiming to be Toni ***, the owner/operator of recruit4u, a recruiter for the automotive industry. I asked how he got my number to which he said that he had possibly gotten it from my resume on Indeed. I said I did not have a resume posted online and asked him again how he got my number. He said it must have been from a referral then. I asked him again how he got my number to which he sent a clearly doctored photo showing my phone number as a missed called one minute before his first text to me. His text accompanying the photo reads as follows: "This shows a recent call from you, which I responded by saying I can’t talk because I’m driving. My friend is now texting for me. I’m a recruiter who calls dozens of people daily. I may have called you in the past via referral or some other way but this shows that you called me today. If you’re not in the automotive industry, I may have dialed the wrong number if/when I did call you. I apologize for any misunderstanding. Have a good day." Recruit4u is an LLC which was incorporated with the Arizona Corporation Commission on February 28, 2018 according to ***

Type of a scam Phishing

When I answered the phone call, I was tricked into saying "Yes" to the question "Can you hear me?" at the very beginning of the call. I immediately hung up after realizing that I had been tricked into speaking. I believe that the robocall was trying to "sell" some type of mobile health apparatus of service.

Enhanced Imaging Inc. contacted our business to request for information on our commercial grade printer and license number. From there they had gathered some information to send toner imported from China to our business and billed us for $499.24 as part of "case pricing that is guaranteed through 24 cartons or one year". We currently have a copy plan from our printing company's original manufacturer that covers all toner (free) and that is when I noticed a scam was being made. I attempted to call the company several times to no avail, reaching an automated answering service with no call back. The toner was still sent and the delivery company did not ask for a confirmation signature just to confirm the recipient name. Now I am stuck with fake printer toner from a TONER PIRATE based out of California. I had researched other incidences with toner pirates and the state of California is very popular for scheming businesses! BE AWARE AND REPORT THIS COMPANY! Do not accept any unknown packages.

Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

Received a letter today saying we won grand prizes, no website, no email listed. Searched for company, phone number, etc. Nothing listed. Called company stating that there is zero info on them.. Her response was "I get a paycheck, so it's real" then she went into needing info from me. I said no, she said they have federal approval, so I asked her to prove it.. Email, whatever.. Show me. They can't. She ended the call with " that's fine plenty of other people will get the prizes, you don't need them" and hung up. Smells a bit hankey... I would deal with them.

Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

Received a surprise text message from a friend I graduated with, in 1967. Several lines of yada yada, twice. Then in for the kill about the Publishers Clearing House Grant. She said there was a list of winners and she saw my name on there....that I had NOT claimed my prize. Also said her name was on there and she had received her $ 24 hours after responding. Was told to text the #920-389-1727 to view the list and look for my name. Sure enough I was #8 winner - told them so and a text followed immediately. Told to send $850 for case file and a delivery fee. Well I wasn't born yesterday, ask them if I could send the $ tomorrow instead. Answer yes, of course. In the meantime I have tried to reach my friend with a phone call, instead of texting. No luck so far. Had ask her questions only she could answer but she (or someone) skirted around it and never gave me an answer. They aren't getting my hard earned money -***

Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

Two employees of Education Financial called me and left two voicemails claiming to be calling on behalf of Department of Education, telling me I wasn't on the correct payment plans for my federal student loans and that I needed to call them back to get this corrected. When I called back they seemed legit but were resistant to giving me more information to learn about this "program". They pulled all my FSA information and reset my login password and accessed all my loan amounts and all my personal data. I only knew it was a scam when they said they needed my bank account information but they "couldn't email me the loan documents" before I gave them bank info. They "input" all of my data and promised me a $15 monthly payment and that $45,000 would be forgiven at the end of my loan. I asked what the interest rate would be and they said it didn't matter... um yes it does! I declined on their offer but I am seriously worried about my information they were able to access...
