Total money lost $200
Type of a scam Government Grant

I was contacted by "Daniel Bowman" and "Oscar Walton" saying I qualified for a $8,820 grant, I only had to put down $200 for it, so I did. I sent the money to Francisco De Leon, then Changed the name to Johnathan Blanco. The scammer recently tried to contact me again telling me to send $420 to a Axeilm Calderon but that seemed even more fishy than having to put down $200 for a GRANT.

This man said his name was John Davis and he was calling to help with a problem that he detected on my computer within the Windows program. He asked me to go to my computer so he can walk me through steps to fix it. When I told him I don't have one single computer in my house that runs on a Windows program he hung up.

i received a call from 860-540-6999 stating that it was Microsoft and my home computer has a critical error message being reported to them. My mom was a victim of this scam where they lead here to a website to download a "fix" which locked her out of her computer. The company proceeded to tell her that they can only unlock it after she pays them nearly 300.00. When I received this call, I told them that Microsoft would never call a customer and they got very upset with me. They made some very unprofessional comments which confirmed they were not Microsoft. This number is from Bristol Connecticut.

My wireless home phone ID

showed 911. I said Hello and they said a lawsuit had been brought against us by the IRS; I hung up because

this info has been reported in AARP magazine and local news. Our local police dispatcher informed me that

they use a third part to issue alerts to the public and it is a reverse 911 call. I did receive a 911 call from the

local police regarding a missing person in our area and she said that was legitimate. Since phones are not

regulated, especially wireless, I answer the 911 calls because it is the national emergency number. I was advised

to report this incident to you. Thank you.

Received a phone call indicating my computer had informed their company that it was at risk. No computer was connected to be sending a signal. When asked what program they were using to be connected to a personal computer the telemarketer immediately became irate and started yelling and screaming at me. I hung up which is why I have no information on the company name because they would not identify themselves when they called.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I saw an add on Craigslist for purchasing a 4wheeler with a plow. I received photos and communication via email. Purchasing the vehicle was supposed to be through ebay motors using paypal cards.

Type of a scam Phishing

Called to inform me that there was a warrant out for my arrest for failing to appear to jury duty. The "officer" gave me case numbers both for FTA (failure to appear) and COC (contempt of court). Claimed they did not want money to avoid "identity theft" but did want me to buy a voucher to avoid paying a bondsman... or I could go to the county sheriff department and be booked through the weekend (they called on a saturday afternoon). They said if I did not buy the voucher the paperwork would leave his desk immediately and there would be an outstanding warrant for my arrest. The scammer's name on caller id was Olson Wade although he identified himself as Officer David Scott. He said his supervisor was Lt. Zach Miller. "Officer Scott"'s extension was 231.

I called Bonneville County Sheriff department immediately to verify that the information was a scam and that there was not indeed a warrant for my arrest for a jury duty notice I never received. They assured me there was no "officer Scott", and that I would have received official mail instead of a phone call asking for money.

Got an email from [email protected] stating they wanted to buy my camper. Asked me for my paypal info, if I had a loan on it, and said they was going to send a hauler carrier to pick it up.

Thanks for your e-mail,

First of all, My name is Mark Hood! I'm in the United States Army (1SG E-8) and i am not in town at the moment as i am currently in base and not allowed to make or receive calls frequently for security reasons but we have internet access and that is our major means of communication to the outside world. I'm purchasing this for my son as a birthday gift and he's not aware of this because am making it as a surprise gift for him. So can you assure me i won't be disappointed buying this from you ? I have a hauler carrier agent that will be coming for the pick up and i also have a few questions for you about it.

Are you the original owner?

Does it has any mechanical issues ?

How many miles does it has?

Do you have the title in hand ?

Loan on the title?

Do you have a verified account with PayPal ?

Do you have any offer's yet ?

Looking forward to read back from you.
