Live call from Health Benefit Advocates offering braces (paid for by insurance). Caller asked where I have pain. I told him “in my neck”. (HE was a pain in the neck.) He pushed me to say back, knee, etc., but I would not. He told me that Health Benefit Advocates is located in Los Angeles, CA. He would not give me the co. phone number. I told him that the Tel. Consumer Protection Act requires that he do that, but he would not. I asked to talk to his supervisor, and he hung up. Caller ID: SPAM? WIRELESS 1-404-987-8915 NOTE: Yesterday, I rcvd two abandoned calls from this Caller ID.

This business marketed its site as a 2019 World Cup gear provider. The gear is listed at about a 10% discount to the official USWNT shop, which made me believe that the product was of similar quality but somewhat cheaper. There were no obvious indications of the site being a scam until I attempted to purchase a product and a message in broken English popped up to say the $71.00 (USD) charge did not go through. I checked with my credit card company and found 2 attempted charges (one of $76, one of $80) were made by a Chinese account. The business also sent an email saying that the payment failed and I should try a different card to redo the payment. I had to cancel my card at the end of this process.

Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

This is a travel company that's posted on all social media. It looks legit but it's not they will lie to you so you can book and then when you book your dates will not be available and you cannot get your money back because they have a no refund policy. They sold us on a extra 150 dollars towards theme tickets that's refundable these people giving us the run around about our money everytime we call about our refund they tell they don't know what's going on it's been over 21 days and we still haven't received our refund. Beware of this company.

I have called a number thinking that it was legitimate only to find out that that number lead to a scam number even though the scam number shows up as a legitimate ConEd number (1-888-925-5016). I believed that it was ConEd, and ended up giving out so much information about myself - name, address, DOB, CC#, etc. (SO STUPID of me!), and they made me say and spell everything and my voice was recorded, I was told (again, so stupid of me to believe them).

The number I first called was 1-888-782-2229 thinking it was a clothing company called VENUS (I was supposed to call 2224, not 2229 which was my oversight), and an old lady with a Southern accent answered, but I did not realize that this lady was part of the scam.

After calling the 2229 number, I called 1-888-925-5016 *** ** * *** *** *** *** *** it was connected to a scam which took my information and voice recording. I don't know why a legitimate ConEd number led to a scam number. So strange. The fake ConEd guy had Indian or Pakistani or those language/region accent and a young man who sounded like in his 20s or early 30s.

What is more odd is that those two numbers appear as one number on my phone even though they were two separate calls back to back (it shows as 1888782222918889255016). Very odd.

*** * *** *** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** * *** *** *** *** ***  And the clothing company, VENUS, at the correct number (2224) is also a legitimate machine greeting. So I think that the scam 1-888-782-2229 somehow makes the next call on the same phone to be connected to a bigger scam number no matter how legitimate the 2nd call phone number looks. When I picked up there's some message stating that your loan may be forgiven. They tell you to press "5" to get a representative. So I press "5" and a female answers and starts with introducing herself and/or the company that they are about loans and forgiveness. I asked what company they are from and they immediately hung up on me. Please watch out. Do not give them any personal information.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was first contacted by the scammer via a text message from an email address about the availability of the motorcycle I had posted on Craigslist. After a few messages back and forth, they text me off of a phone. The scammer then stated that they were ok with the full price and condition of the motorcycle and would go to their bank and issue a cashier check. They then proceeded to say how they would send additional money for me to moneygram to the shipper. After about a week I received a check via UPS. Upon opening the envelope, the check had many red flags such as multiple locations printed on the check, and portions that weren't fully printed on the check. So I took it to my banker to have it inspected for authenticity. When my banker called the *** *** *** *** about the check, they believed it was a fraudulent check. I called *** *** myself shortly after. They advised me to email a picture of the check to them. After doing so, they claimed that the check looked nothing like a check from their bank and that it must be a fraudulent check. Once I got off the phone with them, I text the scammer stating my bank along with the bank it was supposedly issued from claimed the check to be a fake. The scammer then replied saying that the check was valid and that I should deposit the check, which I did not do. The scammer would not answer my phone calls, refused to give me their location, and proceeded to harass me about depositing the check.

Hello,

I was doing some research on how to organize my receipts for the next years taxes for our small business and was doing a google search for the H & R Block site. I had them do my taxes this last year so wanted to see if they had any one online that could advise me or maybe have tools online to help me organizes my income/expenses. I found a site that I thought was H & R Block. The site looked like their real site:

https://idp.hrblock.com/idp/profile/SAML2/Redirect/SSO?execution=e1s1

I tried to log in and it would not let me. It asked me a few personal questions and then emailed me a username to get in. The username was [email protected] which I thought was weird. I went and tried to log in using that name but it said it sent a verification email to that very address which is not mine. This got my attention so I went back to my browsers history to look at the exact site address I had tried to use and it had the idp.hrblock.com instead of hrblock.com I called H & R block

They apologized and stated they would send a return envelop which never came. i made several attempts to contact them but they never answer. Now my mother received from a medicare EOB stating Crown Medical billed the insurance over $2k and she owes close to $1k.
