Received call 7/5/[email protected]:25 am on cell phone. Local call from Bloomington, I googled the number and determined this to be true, since I live in Bloomington. I answered call by accepting call but DID NOT UTTER A SINGLE WORD. After a few seconds a robo came on and said I was on the list to have my entire debt erase and compensation received because of violation of creditors. I should press 1 to speak to a representative now and 2 to be removed from the list. Without uttering a single word I pressed 2 at which time I was immediately disconnected.

My credit card was fraudulently charged $70 through a Facebook marketing page scam similar to the ones below. The ads looked extremely real — especially since there were thousands of likes and comments on the post. Their website had tons of fake reviews too!

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I have an account with posh Mark and the individual told me that he or she was very interested and to mark the product as sold it. And that they would be sending me a check And it would be delivered by fed ex in which it was Tuesday. The check was for $2250. The product that I was selling was only $69 and of course I knew right then that it was a red flag. The person is in constant contact because of the Fourth of July I stated that I could not get to the bank it would have to wait for Friday. Sure enough he just contacted me. He’s waiting for me to deposit the check and to give him a call as soon as the check is deposited. I wish there were some kind away for when the individual comes to pick up the cash the policeman will be here to pick him up. .

I get this call multiple time every week from various phone numbers with local area codes, but occasionally it will be from an 888 or 808 number. The caller always states their name, says they are calling from a recorded line, and asks if I can hear them okay. Sometimes they also give a company name that is similar to a well known business (For example I've gotten calls from Travel-A-City, which when they say it fast it sounds like Travelocity). I hope by reporting this it will help prevent someone from falling for this phishing scam.

I found a backyard waterpark toy for my kids off a Facebook ad which directed me to *** website. From first glance everything look legit. However, after we paid for the product we were sent a confirmation e-mail with a fake tracking link that only came up as an error. After not receiving the package we contacted the company by phone and were unable to make contact with anyone or get a call back. We did however receive an e-mail that same day offering us an 80% discount on any purchase. Days later after not buying anything else we received an e-mail entitled “sorry, you blew it” in the e-mail it stated I could no longer get that discounted amount because I waited to long but if I buy something that day the sender would talk to his or her manager about getting me a 15% discount. I still have not received the product I ordered. I begin researching the company and was shock to see several reviews and complaints from others saying they too bought something but never received the item or their money back. I am working with paypal to dispute the charges because of the lack of receiving a product.

This company is selling subscription based sales of ordinary tea claiming to lose weight with no weight loss ingredients, collagen powder, pre workout drinks and “weight loss” pills on Instagram and Facebook. When consumers try to contact company to cancel subscription they rarely answer calls and make canceling as difficult as possible. This is a scam. The owners are very flashy spenders, drinkers, and drug abusers.

I was a customer for over a year and this company did not fulfill their end of the bargain. I was on the verge of cancelling the service plenty of times & they offered me a promotional deal. I advised that I would give them one last shot. I paid them $200.00 for the promotional deal and was still not satisfied with quality of advertising or customer service provided. At this time I chose to discontinue use of their services all together. I began receiving emails and phone calls, demanding payment of $100.00 past due balance. I explained that I just paid $200.00 and did not want to continue service. I have proof of my most recent payment. I requested history from when I started with this advertising company and for the year 2019. They would not produce these records. I was spoken to in a hostile and threatening manner. I began to receive threatening phone calls from 123 Website Staff. I received an email from 123 Website's collection company; The email explained that my account was sent to collections. My business was permanently removed from Google. When I search for my business on Google, *** *** ***. appears. I was locked out of my Google Business Account that I created. My Facebook page, that I created, is now frozen and all posts removed. They are bullying me and have taken my business hostage. I also suspect phishing and other fraudulent tactics. *** *** *** should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau immediately. I will be taking civil action against this company in the near future.

I have a car for sale on ***, and the scammer wanted me to go to a website, www.vtreports.com , but my browser would not open the page. He specified that he would only take a vehicle title report from this website. Here is his last email: "I'm interested and ready to come , see , test and make a deal for it . I need something rather soon , but i would like to make sure you/vehicle and all is ok and legit.

For that i need a vehicle Title report ,don`t send an old one or get something you find , get me the report from www.vtreports.com is what my loan officer asked for and needs .

I'd just feel safer about getting a vehicle with an official report because I've had friends and family get shafted before."

I did click on the link, and I hope nothing was downloaded to my computer. I'm doing a virus scan now.

Type of a scam Employment

I received a text message from a William Walter, he stated he was a hiring rep with A*** INC. He asked me to go to google hangout to set up an interview with a hiring manager. Once online a T*** *** asked if I was available to discuss the job opening. Right off the bat he asked for my age, sex, and where I lived. I pointed out that he couldn't ask for my age and sex in an interview and he glazed over these questions. Most of the convo was him explaining the remote position and benefits but then he said I needed to answer some questions. He started sending me 4 questions at a time, most were interview questions but then he would throw in a random one like 'Who is your cell phone carrier". I gave short, incomplete answers while calling A*** HR to confirm this was a scam. They gave me the number to FTC and I also reported to them, at the end of the convo he said he was impressed by my answers (dead give away) and that I was hired. I informed him I had spoken with A*** and the FTC and reported what info I had because this was a scam and he blocked me. I also sent a message to the number who initially texted me, who sent back "good luck". I blocked the number and took screen shots which I put on Facebook. I know several people looking for at home work.
