Type of a scam Debt Collections

I received a call from "Melissa Miller" saying that she needed me to setup a repayment for my student loan and gave me a reference number. I called my student loan servicer and they said that was a scam. My loan servicer said that they don't give out their last names or reference numbers to setup loan repayments. I never called this person back.

I was sent a text saying they found me on indeed, emailed the company and got the email saying what they were. It looked funny so I looked here to see if they were real and noticed someone reported them as a scam. Luckily I didn’t try to move forward with the “job” offer.

Type of a scam Government Grant

I was contacted on Facebook messenger by an old high school friend. She was on my friend list, but I really hadn't had much interaction with her. I thought it was weird that she contacted me out of the blue. It didn't take her long before she tried to get money from me to apply for a government program. She said that she paid 3000 to apply and received $150,000. I reported it to Facebook.

I was selling an item online . I was asked by this person to email them outside of the sites mail relay system, which I did, although I now realize this was a mistake. They then asked to pay for the item I was selling with a cashiers check, offering to pay me an extra 50 dollars on top of the original price. This is probably a scam, so beware dealing with a person with this email address.

Type of a scam Employment

They text my cell phone, stated that they received my resume thru Indeed. Then they wanted me to interview thru telegram messenger. asked me a whole lot of questions. stated that they wanted to hire me.. then they wanted me to give them my personal information. I stopped the call right there and told them that I was no longer interested in their company or job.

Not sure if its a scam or not but I do not believe in conduction business over a text or message service.

Type of a scam Romance

His name is Jae-Ho Kim. Allegedly from Bronx, NY. Korean american. He started sweet talking about a week after talking online. Claims he is in the U.S. army and deployed in Syria. I really started to fall for him. He then started asking me for money for a plane ticket to come home and see me also. It was really out of the blue. I know soldiers don't need help with any money and for sure not from strangers so i questioned him a lot. He of course gets upset at my questions. But can't call me or video chat me. But once he did video chat me but i couldn't hear or see anything. He sends me a lot of pics of someone in the army but i am not really sure what to do.

I was using an app on my phone called Roomster. Looking for a place to live as a room mate while getting on my feet and outside my parents home. This individual said he was interested in me becoming his Nanny and offering me a place to live while he was deployed in the Army. I would need to assist his pregnant wife and child in exchange for 1200/month and a place to live while he was away. He asked for my email address which I provided to him. Then in an email he asked for my personal info like name address city state and zip code. He also asked for a copy of my ID which I provided. He sent me pictures of his supposed family and explained he was on vacation with his wife and this would all be surprise for her Birthday and anniversary by him setting this all up. At first I was excited for the opportunity but then he sent me a request that he was willing to pay me $150 of a $970 check if I would just print up a color version of the check and deposit it in my own bank account. I called my Step father who advised I not go any further until I could actually speak with him and ask him some more questions. When I texted him and asked to speak with him before we went further he seemed very upset that I did not trust him. I then texted him and told him I was being cautious and safe and why did he not respect that? He then called me and with a very heavy European accent, maybe middle Easter, and asked me why I did not trust him. When I asked him where he was from he said Florida, then I asked him what about the accent and where is that from (it really did not match the pictures) he got upset and said he will look for someone else who could trust more.

Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

I made a purchase for a trip in March. I selected dates between May 21 to May 25. I never received an email confirmation as promised. I've tried calling several times and no answer or the phone just hung up. I sent emails and everything to confirm my package. I've been requesting a refund as of April 15 due to bad customer service and I've never received no call, and i don't meet certain requirements that wasn't explained until after I made my purchase. I found a number on here and tried to contact them one more time and when I did, I was told it's nothing that could be done because i was over the 30 day mark, but I was never accommodated formy trip and I've tried canceling the trip after I made dates that wasn't processed on their behalf.I really feel like my money was taken and I'm ready to seek legal matters because I was never accommodated and I was ignored. I want a full refund.

This company lours a person into their store offering a free facial. Then while giving the facial explains the products being used and is able to manipulate conversation ie I am using the "diamond infused eye cream" and will give it to you for free with the purchase of the "amber new age syringe" that is only $300 today $950 off...The "diamond infused facial peeling gel" is free but we can throw in the (hydra pm diamond infused nite cream) for $50 reg $149. My mom is 83 1/2 years old is often confused and as she was not w/ her group at lunch---which she had communicated-- blood sugar down and they almost charged her $5000 + for more product. The Bank Fraud dept alerted me of the large transaction and it was declined...in the meantime they did charge her $3000 for products she wasn't clear on. I believe they knew this and took advantage of her being disoriented to manipulate her into purchases she did not have the funds for and if in her right mind at 83 would not need.

I was able to get the $3000 refunded. They had charged this amount (learning she did have $3000+) in the midst of phone calls to me, me talking to the bank fraud department. The $378 they will not refund even though she left escorted by her retirement chaperone w/o any products and being told they had taken advantage of her and she had missed lunch.
