Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

A lady comes on the line says "Hello" and then there is a pause. She then continues to say that I've recently stayed at a resort and will be giving me a 75% discount. Then the line hung up but I suspect it is because I said "Yes" when answering the phone instead of saying "Hello." I will be tracking my accounts and looking out for any suspicious bills.

I received call from the phone number 323-784-9588 and a man named John said "Hello I'm calling from the Customer Service Department can you hear me?" I fell for it and said "YES". The person then started a sentence saying "You have been preselected ...." and then I instantly hung up the phone. I would not like to become responsible for any unknown charges to my card or any debt.

I saw the cell phone phishing scam being reported on the news. An automated call was made with the opening line being "Can you hear me okay?" I did not say a word or push any buttons while the message played regarding some fake tour or cruise I may have won.

Fairly confident this is related to the scam trying to get a recording of someone saying yes. Claimed to be related to a vehicle warranty, (stupidly) said yes to speak to someone, other end hung up. Robo call. Tried calling the # back - surprise! - not valid.

The phone number is very close to my own number. Only the last 4 digits are different. When I answered the phone I said "hello" and then there was a bit of a delay before the man on the other end said "hello - did you just call me?" To which I replied "no". They asked "well this is 503-752-xxxx, right?" I said "yeah", they then said, "well I'm just calling back the number that was on my phone, sir." I said "sorry, you have the wrong number". They then said "ok" and hung up.

The delay at the beginning, the reading my number back to me for verification, and the use of the word "sir" are all things that lead me to believe this is a variation on the current scam where they try to get you to say "yes". Unfortunately, I was pre-occupied and not really paying attention to the call and ended up falling for the bait by using the word "yeah". This happened only an hour ago so I do not yet know the repercussions of the call and am not entirely sure what to do about it.
