Type of a scam Employment

I received a Job opportunity via my college email upon graduating calling for willing drivers to wrap their car for the 2020 olympics and get paid to adviertise while driving. I applied and was in contact for over two weeks. It appeared to be a legitimate, well organized situation until I received a large check in the mail and was told to deposit then get multiple different money orders to pay the wrap company. They kept pressing me for confirmation that I sent the money, however I did not continue correspondence with them after realizing this red flag. I went to my bank immediately and told them of the fake check deposited to have it flagged and protect myself and bank account. They cover company they used to hide behind was a legitimate well known international company- very wise and deceiving.

Had 2 phone calls within a 2 hr period. Officer Amanda Barnes (think thats what caller said—I saved calls) stated my SS # has suspicious fraudulent activity at the south border of Texas. 2 different phone numbers including a toll free number. Caller wants to have you press 1 to speak to officer and hangs up. I know this is a scam, however I have family living in Texas.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

They offered a variety of products, including Apple products, at a discounted rate. After making the purchase, item was to be shipped in 24 hours and delivered in 3-7 business day. This did not happen, now the site is down, they are not responding to emails or phone calls. I'm out only $60, but it could have been more and the situation could have led to hacking my bank account.

These numbers have been calling me asking me if I am the home owner. Once I say "yes" they hang up. I'm not sure what they are doing with this but I will be watching all of my accounts closely.

Type of a scam Rental

Spotlight Events, Formally known a Rockstar Booths is a scam. They take your money and don't show up to the event, or take your money and only give you part of what you ordered. They advertise as a photobooth rental but they are far from that. This is a fake business. The man in charge calls himself Kyle or Riley. I gave them over $500 dollars and the photographer I ordered did not show up to my event. Over the phone said I would get my money back but never sent it. Similar experiences have happened to others. If you look on their yelp page it is filled with people calling this website/place a scam! They are advertising as a photo rental, but they are really just taking your money and not showing up! They are not a legitimate company. Please shut them down!

leslie packer will call you claiming that she "found out" that your server is compromised and that she only wants to let you know to help you secure your information. Meanwhile she has already downloaded everything in the server SHE breached. Her phony "I just want to help" and "I am passionate about security breaches" and "I am a journalist that reports on date breaches" is just a warm up to what she really wants - a payday from extortion.

Stay away from her. When she calls - block her number.

A phone number with the the same 951 area number as mine kept calling me for over a week everyday. Every time I'd try to call back I would get a message saying the subscriber I have dialed is not in service. Today I deceived to answer the call and a woman asked "Hi, is this "my name"?" I answered yes and she hung up. I've read that it's a phishing scam where they record you saying "yes" and then try to get to your money by checking your name with band which use voice recognizing software. I had a bit of identity theft before a couple months ago and I hope this isn't another instance of it.
