Kaplan Inc Spoof Reports & Reviews (15)

So this is really becoming a common practice. I had applied for a customer service remote job from LinkedIn and woke up this morning via text message.

#1 if a "remote job" is making you feel like you're being rushed through the job details and interview process. It's absolutely a scam. A real job should be scheduling an interview with you.

Anyway, I was given this email [email protected] and told to download Google Chat to get in touch with Melissa Mack.

#2 why wouldn't Melissa Mack contact me via email to set up said interview?

After I contact her, the conversation went exactly as previous scams I've seen go. Offer a disgusting amount of money for a pretty average at home job. (This was $35.50 hourly schedule yourself via spreadsheet) as soon as she started asking interview questions, I fired back with a few of my own. I got instantly blocked.

Be careful friends.

I was deceived thinking that the company was going to pay for the software then I had to read the text with my sister (yes, I had the conversation screeenshot) and then I Google'd to see if Kaplan remote jobs was a scam. Google sent me here. Wow! Some S.O.B's out there. Shame on them! God is watching!

They slow

I've been looking for a work from home job due to circumstances that don't allow me to be on my feet. I saw a comment about a job and requested information and was sent to telegram where I did what I thought was an interview everything seemed totally legitimate or so I thought they had asked for my FB login for tracking purposes only for security for the check they were going to send me. Later I went to check my Facebook account to find it had been hacked badly as in primary email address was changed so I couldn't get a reset code to get back in.. fb even requested my I'd but since that was part of the info the scammers requested...all this because I really needed a job and I was so desperate I was fooled.

I was offered this job after I responded to a post in a local Facebook job site. Here is my entire correspondence. This has scam written all over it. Do not fall for it. At the end, he said he would be back after showing the text to his supervisor. He never came back.

I did saw a job work from home in Fb than they send me to Telegram and from there they were asking me questions like an interview

I knew it thank you for the pictures good thing I didn’t send my whole SSN

My wife almost fell for this after a facebook post offering $100 sign on and $1,000 material cost check for data entry from home. Thank you all for sharing and saving us the hassle.
Sent us the "wrong check" at first, looks like this for those wondering.

Was contacted via telegram app, applied for Data Entry position, was sent a check to mobile deposit and asked to send confirmation that it deposited and funds were available I deposited (the account is set up just for stuff like this to catch scammers) check address is 1701 JKF Boulevard, Philadelphia PA 19103 -no phone number, hours later was asked to send copy of ID, which I didn't then get an “email” from Facebook saying I asked to be re set. I uninstalled the app, logged out of FB on all devices and changed the passwords. This has to be a scam.

THIS IS A SCAM.

I have had the same experience. I asked for the fifth or sixth time to see the "legal onboarding documents". I was sent an overcompensating offer letter and told multiple times the legal paperwork would be with the $4700 worth of stuff I'm supposed to pick up from an apple store.

Not one single thing added up. I asked for legal documents, I called Kaplan and he is not in their database. I called him out on both and told I was confusing myself. Then he made a hasty retreat and ended it off with Bye and a hand-waving emoji.

I REPEAT. SCAM. Do not fall for it, I dont know how, but they clearly have something worked out to get your money or account info or something.

I am not sure if this is a scam or not yet. But I was contacted via text message after I applied for a position via indeed. The contact person Jane Moore, with a text number of 210-739-0360 reached out to me and told me to skype Mr. Thomas Hansen to cid.a0cb468c5c04121b.

Which I have done, we only spoke via skype; had interview via skype yesterday and offered position this morning. He had someone email me a check--told me to deposit it and send him confirmation email. I deposited check, but have not sent confirmation to him. The email I sent to spam, since this sounds too good to be true. I have checked the website and it appears legitimate but the check address is Castaway Construction & Restoration LLC , po box 330640, Kahului, HI 96733. No phone numbers on the check.

Position is for Administrative assistant/Data entry online job.

Can you advise if this is a scam??

Was it a scam? I'm literally doing same right now , seems legit but I'm not sure .

Did you ever get a response of a scam?

The scammers contacted me via text about a job offer from Kaplan,Inc. Explaining that the job pays $15/hr for training, then $30/hr afterwards. They communicated through Skype stating the position was work-from-Home and they would cover the costs of the equipment. I went through a long ordeal with purchasing gift cards with the 1st check sent and sending money through CashApp. The checks they sent ending up being checks that left my bank account in the negative totaling $4,858.93.
