NEVER USE HOLA FARE!

I was planning a trip for my daughter and I to go visit my dad in Jamaica to celebrate my mother that passed away four years ago. As I’m looking for the best flights that have the best fare, I come across Hola Fares. They seem to have the best prices versus other booking agency’s. I called and spoke to somebody to have them help me book our trip. The lady I spoke to, Jenny Smith, helped me the whole way through. She was very pleasant. I told her I wanted to leave February 17 and return February 28. She sent me emails with itineraries for different flights and I decided on one. She sent me an email that I had to sign and send back saying that it was okay to charge my card to American Airlines. I gave her consent and she charges my card a total amount of $798.20. My 7yr old daughter was soooo excited because she FINALLY gets to go to Jamaica and see my dad and say a prayer to her Mama Chicka.

A week before our trip we were getting ready and preparing for Jamaica. I had to get my Covid-19 test 3 days prior to entering Jamaica which would have been February 15, my daughter got her packet from school since she’d be missing 2 weeks, and my job knew I’d be gone from February 17-28; we were set. I live in Vacaville which is an hour and 12 min from The San Francisco airport. I have a friend that lives 12 minutes from the airport in San Francisco so we drove to San Francisco, left my car at my friends house, and caught a Lyft ($33.26) from her house to the airport. This is when the nightmare began. We get to the ticket counter and present our passports. The lady at the ticket counter tells us our flight was for yesterday February 16. I said this can’t be I booked my flight for today February 17 and I showed her my itinerary where it said the same thing. She told me there was nothing that they could do because in their system it shows up as a no-show so she told me to call the ticket agency that I booked through. Standing at the ticket counter with my seven-year-old crying and four bags was embarrassing and hurtful. I had to step to the side and call Hola Fares. This was at 1:31p and I was on the phone with them for 37min. At first they (Marie, the person helping me on the phone at the time) act like they understood my situation, then I told them well they need to book me on a new flight as they gave me the runaround and told me they will call me back in 2hrs because they had to call the airline to sort their mistake out. I also called the American Airlines at 2:38p to try to sort out the problem that Jenny Smith from Hola Fares made. The automatic machine said that they would call me within an hour and a half to 2 1/2 hours. I reached out to my friend where I left my car, she had to leave work early to come pick us up after being at the airport for 5hrs to take me to my car because she had the keys to my car. My daughter and I drove back home to Vacaville while I waited for American Airlines and Hola Fares to call me back. American Airlines finally called me back around 5:31p and that call was about 10min long. Speaking to the AA rep he told me I was booked for a flight leaving on the 18th out of SFO at 3:59p. I said since I’m speaking with an actual American Airlines representative can you please email me my itinerary. He emailed me my itinerary right then and there while I was still on the phone with him and at that moment I felt Secure that we were leaving the next day. At 5:53p Hola Fares called me back giving the same info the American Airlines representative gave me, and I said thank you now we’re finally all set to go. This time for February 18th out of SFO. We hang up and then at 5:44p the manager Michael who had just called to give me our new booking info says I have to pay $1,040 for the taxes and fees. I say no I don’t I shouldn’t have to pay for anything, I didn’t make the mistake the airline didn’t make the mistake you guys did. Why should I have to pay MORE for a ticket then what I even originally paid? I told him the Airline had called me with my itinerary and confirmation number and I’m all set to go. He told me I had to pay because they had to pay extra to change the flight. I told him that was not my fault that was a mistake on your end. And we got off the phone. I placed another call to AA at 5:56p which directed me to the automatic service saying that they would call me back within 2 to 4 hours. In between that time I had to call my dad and let him know that we weren’t going to be there on the 18th after he’d already made arrangements to pick us up from the airport. I also had to call my friend whose house we were staying at in Dallas during our layover because she was expecting us that night, and had to rearrange her day to make accommodations for my daughter and I. AA called me back around 9:40p and confirmed that we were all set for the 18th. So now the next day we had to do it all over again. Drive to SF from Vacaville in traffic, catch a $35.65 Lyft (who was driving 60mph in a 65mph) get to the ticket counter (the lady helping me there was extra helpful!) and she pulls up My daughter and I’s information and in the system was the wrong flight information still from the original wrong flight information, February 16th. Embarrassed again at the ticket counter again with these four bags again and my daughter crying again because of a mistake Hola Fares made. Now at this Point we won’t be able to make our 3:59p flight because it was past the check in time. I call Hola Fares again at 3:40p they told me I had to pay $1,040 and hung up on me. I called back blocking my number this time 3:41p that call lasted for 43min. During that time, they also spoke with the lady at the ticked counter and she explained to them that this was their mistake and they had to pay for the ticket. They had to book it on their end for my flight to be active. They lady on the phone also sent me a new Itinerary while on the phone to leave for the next flight out which would have been for 5:00p. I show the AA Ticket counter rep. She looked up the confirmation number which was my original confirmation number from the beginning of all of this EMHSMK, and still the original wrong flight was in their system still showing as my daughter and I leaving February 16th. The Hola Fares rep was rude to me and the AA ticket rep telling us it must be AA system, and we kept explaining to her that it’s not showing up on their end in the system therefore I’m still not an active ticket holder. The HF rep said I had to pay, the AA ticket Rep and I both explain to her even if I were going to pay they still needed to do it from their end, but the AA rep also explained that it was a mistake on HF end and they need to pay the price for my new ticket because there was nothing AA could do, because my tickets were still showing up in the system as a no-show which means I can’t get a credit or a refund from the airlines because it’s a no-show which was a mistake made by Jenny Smith from HF. HF told me they will call me back within 2-4 hours so they could call AA and get my refund or credit for the flights. My daughter and I had to catch a $44.99 Lyft back to my friends house. When we got there she wasn’t home because she had to work and couldn’t leave early. I had to slide my car key under her locked gate. Now I’m stuck because I need my car key to be able to leave. My Lyft driver was kind enough to drive us to Walgreens which was down the street so I could buy a broom to try and get my key from under the gate. After about 40min with my Lyft driver and daughters help we finally got my key. It was dark and cold in San Francisco, we had to drive back home again in traffic, which took us 2.5hrs to get back home to Vacaville on a Friday. No one ever called me back I gave them a call back at 10:22p and of course no one answered.

I called back this morning 2/19 at 7:43a Sara from HF answered told me to hold on while she gets her manager and she hung up on me, I called back again at 7:48a that’s when Dave from HF answered he told me the same thing and hung up on me as well. I call back at 7:51a and finally I was transferred to Michael the manager. Who I talked to the before and was suppose to call me back but never did about a new flight or refund.

Hola fares will not refund me my money for my flight, they only offered to refund me the taxes and fees $191.62 and would not refund me $606.52 for my tickets. I called my bank to dispute the charges and my bank said because I was the one who booked the flight they can’t dispute a refund. So now I have to come out of pocket pay for a new ticket $746 for new flights for my daughter and I.

I called American Airlines at 8:50a on February 19 2022. They called me back at 10:31a February 19 2022…Our call lasted 1 hour 45 minutes. The AA rep forgive me I forget her name, but she was very helpful and patient and understanding. She did everything she could do to help me without charging me but the price came out to $750 on top of the $606 I already paid. At that point I just requested a refund, she emailed me the information I needed to request a refund. I proceeded to request the refund for both mine and my daughters tickets from American Airlines. And then I had to purchase a new ticket through a different airline to leave out February 22, 2022 Through March 5, 2022. Which means I will have to take another Covid test and also reapply for our travel authorization forms.

on January 16, 2020 I purchased a travel package for 2 people from Newark NJ to Aruba on United Airlines from Holafares Travel for $1951.81 round trip total. then due to the world shutdown because of Covid, we had to cancel our trip and received "Credits" for future travel. In January 20, 2021 I received an email stating my "Credits" will be extended till Dec 31 2021. On January 24 2021, I booked another trip trying to use my "Credits" from Newark to Curacao on American Airlines and was told my "Credits" were with United Airlines so I had to pay another $820.78 for that trip. a week before travel, I had to cancel that trip due to the island being shut down due to a massive Covid spread. so now I have "Credits" for $2772.59. In November 2022 I called Holafares once again to use my "Credits" once and for all and was told they all expired except for 310.00. after going back and forth with the agent and requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was sent away with nothing. how can a business be allowed to sell a service, collect money for it and walk away without providing the service sold? there are no travel credits with either airline in my name. this is Larceny and should be prosecuted.

HOLAFARES is an airline ticketing SCAM!!

The (Asian) outfit presents OnLine as a Booker for Airline Tickets — but they don’t have any airline tickets!!!!

After you have expended A LOT OF TIME entering your Travel details and CHARGING the stated charges on official-looking formats …

They email you some [censored] that is DECEPTIVELY called “Your Itinerary - Your Flight Reservation …”, replete with a bogus “Agency Reference #” that is the SAME number as something they label a “Booking #.”

When you call the number to find out when you will receive the REAL ETickets THAT YOU put on your credit card … they say they don’t have any tickets …………… !!!

I purchase tickets from them for Delta flights for my family. After submitting all the information they asked for, they called and said the flights were not available for the price they advertised and was available for twice the amount. They were talking so fast I could not understand them. Several times I had to ask the person to slow down. I told them I was going to report them because they are scamming people. I told them I was going to call Delta, and the reply was 'so what'. That was when it was clear that they are scamming people. The federal government needs to check on these people. STAY AWAY PLEASE

I tried to book flights and used a comparison web page. Hola Fares was quite lower than others, so I booked. A man named Leon (fake name) emailed me and called the next day. I called back and was told the seats were unavailable but they could get me the same seats for $250 each more. He rarely let me talk and I had to interrupt him to be able to say anything. I told him I did not agree to the new cost and that I figured this might be a scam. I then hung up. So far my debit card has not been charged but keeping my eyes open.

This place is a scam! Do not ever book with these people! I had $1200 in credits from a trip that was cancelled due to covid and when I called back in December to find out when my credits expired they said March 20th. When I called in March (Ray) told me that I had until April 11. I have been trying to call for days now to book…kept getting disconnected and then when I finally spoke to someone they are telling me my credits expired January 15! They literally stole my money! Then they were trying to “offer” me a flight that was $356 on United for $1100 per person! Scam artists! If you value your money do not book with these people! Worst company ever! Every time you call them they say something different and in the end they literally stole $1200 from me.

I purchased 2 airline tickets from Atlanta to Los Angeles and the total cost was $490.38 and the Holafares.com site stated 7 seats available at time of purchase. I received a call 6 hours later and the associated informed me the tickets were not available anymore but could re-book us but the new cost would be $1,248.50. I asked the Indian gentleman his name and he said it was Adam Smith (Really?  - my guess is they are located in India) and I wanted to speak to a manager to resolve this issue. He stated the manager was in a meeting and not available. I told him to have his manager call me when he was out of the meeting and Adam said he could not do this and there was nothing that could be done, then he proceeded to hang up on me! AVOID this SCAM and save yourself aggravation and headache! If you enjoy false advertising and “Bait and Switch” tactics Holafares will be great for you!
TOTAL SCAM - Run and don't look back!

Tried to book Flights with Holafares to Cancun online it was $746 called and they wanted to charge me $1,500 because tickets I supposedly booked/purchased weren't
available. After discussions with Adam Smith and his emails he sent. My better half figured out that it was possibly a scam, looked online sure enough here I am reporting a scam. So I immediately called my Mastercard Citi card and had the card cancelled, before they could even put a charge to it so beware of Holafares! Adios! To your scams!

I booked for my family flight from Nairobi Kenya to Birmingham Al by visa card online payment and i paid $2044.48.After paying i received a call from one "Denver cell phone number {833}330-3777.When i called to enquire about my eticket,Denver told me to wait for 15 min, after one hour i called and did an email but nothing, Today I called and my number cant go through because it is blocked. He also requested for my visa and visa card photo.

I thought I had purchased plane tickets. These people called me within a few hours saying that the tickets that I had purchased were no longer available, and that the price was actually twice the amount because of the dates that I had selected. They then asked for a picture of my driver's license for verification of address and a picture of my debit card for authentication. They said that they would send me my e-tickets within 48 hours. I called back later to be told that no one was working in that department over the weekend, but that I would have my e-tickets by Monday evening. Monday evening I was told that I would have them by Tuesday morning at 10am. Tuesday, at 12:30, they had still not sent me my e-tickets, and when I called them back, they said I would have them within 4-6 hours. I still don't have my e-tickets, and I haven't received a response from the email I sent them requesting that they cancel the reservations.

UNETHICAL SCAMMERS!

Same experiences as comments mentioned above has happened to my friends and I as well, they all have an Indian accent but claimed that their name is “John Tyler” “Henry Nicholls” “James Norton” and also claims that they are based in South Alpena, MI. They sent us an email during the beginning of the pandemic stating that we can not get a refund so we used our credit to book in January 2021 for flights in May 2021 after they gave us the flight info and asked us to confirm my replying “I agree” since the had a credit of $1530 our new booking was only $1163 we agreed that it will be a lost. We replied “ I Agree” and waited for our e-ticket but never got the email. We tried for a month to get a hold of someone and they never replied so after the 9th email attempt and many phone calls that were continuously being transferred to in the end not be helped we had a replied email stating it’s confirmed and we should be getting our e-ticket confirmation within 24 hrs we received an email 3 day before our flight stating we did not have it booked and that we needed to pay more money if we wanted those flights. After over 3 hours being transferred and on hold majority of the time a “John Tyler” was trying to have us pay for another flight of “$521” per person when it was their fault for not booking us on our original United airline tickets which was “$388” per person. Trying to scam us out of more money claiming they we will get “$930” refunded back to the credit card and “$600” will be a United airline credit we have 2 years to use before it’s lost. After looking and booking our tickets through United airline directly with no issues “John” tried to lie and said they have no more tickets and that it would be “a lot more” if we insisted to book those flights. Once I told him I was able to book the tickets with no issue and that is was $200 cheaper than what he is claiming he said we will get an email confirmation stating we will get our $930 refunded even said to the same card with the last 4 digits within 24 hours. We stated we don’t trust them anymore so we would like to stay on the phone and wait for his email stating that we will get the refund, etc. John chuckled and laughed and said he “promise” we will get the email and that he will email us in 5-10mins and not to worry.

Multiple times he has repeated “not to worry” “don’t worry”. It is now exactly one week later and 2 emails and well as 2 calls, we still have no confirmation and no email replied.

They are a total scam, unethical and unprofessional. They will call and try to get your money within seconds of your online search as soon as you put in your info to check out the flight availabilities. So don’t even bother going on the site! TOTAL SCAMMERS!

We hired an attorney to make sure they don’t get away with continuing to scam others. We will also be filing a small claim through court.

If anyone else is a victim please reply to this chain and we will get an attorney to contact you and shut these scammers down.

Have you gotten any help?

Similar story happened to me. They stole $1200 in credits from me and my family from a trip that was cancelled because of covid.

Hello to is happened to me please let me know what lawyer u r using

Holafares is running a scam, they are doing a bait and hook by advertising lower fares, taxes and fees included. I book 2 times thru there website and on both occasions they wanted to change my airline carrier from Southwest airlines to Spirit airlines because they did not want to honer my Southwest reservation. I booked thru them for $794.56 and then they called me and said that it would now cost approximately $1,080.00 to book the same round trip flight. DON'T do business Holafares! you will regret it. Book directly with the Airlines or use a reputable travel agency.

Were you able get a refund or did you end up paying more?

Holafares does not give the rates on the website. They are not the correct prices, they told me no discounts at this time after I booked the discount tickets. This is a scam! False information given on website.
This company took all my credit info and info for 5 flights.

I bought a ticket and cancelled it in less than an hour with a cost of 880 cads in December 19th 2020
I removed the dispute I had against Holafares in my bank the 27th of January but they still havent honored their commitment to pay my money back
This is affecting me a lot because I've to pay a debt I shouldn't be paying for ($880 cads), and for the interests being generated on my credit card monthly ($14,66) starting in December 2020 until today 28th March 2021

My advice: Avoid dealing with this company by any means. If you did the same mistake than me Pay with your credit card and don't let you them convince you to remove a dispute even if they send you e-mails or call you promising the refund of your money. They always find some problems to pay you back !

Searching for flights for our family vacation I came across the website holafares.com that had a great deal. I filled out all of the proper documentation online and submitted my credit card information. I then received a "confirmation" that said that the fares and flights are not guaranteed until ticketed. The next day I got on their online chat because I didn't receive any further information regarding our purchase. I spoke to a someone who told me that I needed to wait 24-72 hours for a confirmation. After waiting 72 hours I got on their online chat again and spoke to "Damian" who immediately called my phone to reassure me that our flights were in "processing" and that he needed a confirmation from me for payment. I explained that I had already given it to them via their website, he then sent me an email with ALL of my and my families personal info that I had submitted along with my full credit card number that I had also submitted. He said I just need to sign the email then he would be able to process my payment. He said once that was done he would let me know what was next. I told him I wasn't signing anything until I knew what was next. He then said no to worry he would just be giving me my confirmation. I signed the email and then he said okay he had gotten it and now I had to send him a picture of my photo ID and a picture of my credit card. I instantly got mad and told him no way. He reassured me it was to only verify that I was the actual card holder and that I had it in my possession. He said that I could cover everything except my issue date and expiration, and my address on my photo ID. I could cover all but my name the expiration and the last 4 of my credit card number. I was very flustered and reluctant but knew they already had all of that information so I gave him what he asked for. He told me that he received it and now to wait 24-72 hours for confirmation. 72 hours later I had nothing in my inbox. I called again at which time "Damian" assured me once again that our flights were guaranteed but were in "processing". At this point I had actually waited for 8 days and still did not have a confirmation. I gave him one more day because my husband wanted to speak to them to which they told him the same thing on day 9 that our flights were still in "processing" At this point I have had to cancel my credit card. This is NOT a TRUST WORTHY company. I do not recommend them to anyone.
