Started paying them since Aug.2020 and never miss any payment,they settled 2 accounts, the third one went to court and noone showed up for me.
Now,I'm going through with garnishment because of this company.I paid more than I owed.
Protect your mental and emotional health by not dealing with them.

Heartland legal group sought me out at a time that I had a huge transition in my home. I lost 2 people that was contributing to the overall finances in the home not to mention COVID hit and I felt my best option was to consolidate bills. I was told I would have legal respresentation and NEVER once spoke to a lawyer or was counseled. I continued over the last to years to initiate phone calls for follow up. Since listing with Heartland I have spoken to multiple people that would review the files and tell me something different. When I ask to speak to the person negotiating on my behalf she NEVER once was available and this was for the last 2 years! Since contracting with the company they have received over 10,000 dollars from me and have paid only 1 creditor a total of 970 dollars. I have received a $700 garnishment as well as have had 2 court appearances of which I had NO ONE representing me. This is what I was told I would have when I contracted. All of the creditors I listed are contacting me daily even with a Google number Heartland told me to use. The ultimate last conversation in which I cancelled the contract was when I learned Heartland had received more than 10k from me to pay their legal team and I had 426 dollars in escrow. The representative said I see where they tried to settle with Chase Visa in February 2021 but “we didn’t have your correct middle name”. I said shouldn’t someone have called me to get the right name and pursue settlement. The rap said , “I’m not sure how that works but I can send have your processor give you a call”. I cancelled services with them that same day. The gag is that they are using your money to pay “lawyers” and never reaching out to creditors for you”. By the time you look in to it you have lost thousands. You are better negotiating with your creditors… please stay the F away from this company and save yourself heartache in the long run. They should be punished to the full extent of the law for Fraud and praying on people that already have financial hardship. I am legally looking in to what I can do about this but I’m sure there are fine lines in the contract. And when you are as vulnerable as I was 2 years ago, anything they say makes you feel like you have a chance at regaining financial stability! Again DONt DO IT! It is FRAUD

I also fell into their trap, 8k later I finally woke up and realized they are nothing but double talking con artist. They use a third party to handle their phone calls from clients and you never get results. I cancelled my account with them, and I called my bank to stop payments on 12/23/2021. Today I woke to see Global which is their banking institute went and took $831 out of my account. I called my bank and they are putting a stop payment again. When I spoke to Heatland on 12/23/2021 to cancel they said they would not debt my account since I have terminated the account. So much for not debting my account once I cancelled.
Stay away from this company.

This company is preying on those who are suffering during this pandemic due to debt and inability to find work. It's criminal. I have paid in over 10,000 in 20 months with only 3% debt resolution. 3%! AVOID this company. If you are enrolled take legal action.

I wish I had read these complaints prior to hiring this sham of a company. So far I’m out $11,874.00 and still not done with the program. If anyone has ANY advise on how to get out of the program, please let me know.

I would suggest that you try and find an attorney that is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA). A consumer rights attorney can advise you on whether a company has broken the law. Visit https://www.consumeradvocates.org/ Debt settlement companies - including law firms that provide similar services on a non-litigation basis- are highly regulated in many states and if you were solicited or signed papers in person in your home other protections may apply. I too was taken advantage of this scam of a company, never the less, it's sad because you don't even know where or who your money is going too, I just don't understand after reading review after review of people that have ended up being scam by this company, who ever they are, they should be put out of business and made to get all of us our money back and fix our credit, I am being sued by the company heartland debt settlement had in my program, I had excellent credit, even dealong with Covid until they tricked me into their debt settlement program, now my life is rude
Do not deal with Heartland Legal Group debt settlement at all

Husband signed up for their Debt Relief, it has been 7 months. They have drafted over $3k from his bank account. Have settled zero cc accounts. You can't get a straight answer and get a total run around on the phone. Has anyone sought legal aid to retrieve back their money/get this place shut down??

Heartland Legal Group LLC offered to settle my $40,000 credit card debts, called me several times, reassured me of their success, and after much paperwork, set me up with Global Holdings (ghllc.cm) for a bank account from which they would deduct $640.57 per month from my personal bank to settle with my creditors. After the first month, I saw that Heartland took all but 37.33 from my account "for legal fees" without even sendig letters (as promised) to my creditors saying that they represented me. The got me to sign a power-of-attorney letter. When I found out that taking fees up front before any settlement was offered WAS ILLEGAL, they said the fees were to go to pay retainer fees for my lawyers, should they me needed. I was told that if the lawyers were not needed to settle my debts, I would get none of those fees back. Another direct debit was taken from my account, in the amount of $640.57, and as I called my cancel my account/relationship with Heartland, I was told that I would not be refunded any fees, even though the compan had done absolutely nothing for me. Beware!!!! Heartland Legal Group, is not the Heartland law firm. It is a sham.

We have already paid 4017.00 in to the program, and only 1 sm. account is supposedly being made payments to. We were told this is debt consolidation, but talking further with lots of other people, we were told it sounds more like bankruptcy and not debt consolidation! And we clearly expressed we are trying to avoid bankruptcy. I have spent all morning reading NOTHING But Complaints and language usage "SPAM" "Fraud" "Scam, ect... Is there Anything that we can all do to stop this fraudulent company and get our money back? It's Unbelievable that they would take advantage of already struggling families!
