Global Tech Solutions Reports & Reviews (5)

I have an Asus laptop that stopped working. It showed a number to call for Windows support. Global Tech Representative said they would fix the issue for $399 for a 3-year computer protection plan. They proceeded to install software and remoted into my system. They got my credit card number, as they did correct the problem. Now 3 years later, I’ve received several calls to refund me and an email saying the contract will auto-renew if I don’t call to cancel the subscription. I called them to inquire, the people sound from India, are condescending and insisted they had to remote in to cancel my subscription and refund me. I am now on a newer, fully functional Acer laptop. They, again remoted in, installed two pieces of software, and created a new lock screen and then wanted my bank information. I ended the call and shutdown the laptop connection. I now can’t access the computer due to their Lock Screen and had to buy a new laptop. I did not give them access to my bank.

Person with a heavy indian accent called from "Global Tech Solutions, Austin Tx" he claims. He said my computer has been hacked to 60% and that he could help me. "Go to your computer and let me know when you are in front of your computer" I asked him many questions, he said he was received information from the server I use, though he could not identify my IP-address, my ISP provider, the type of computer i am using etc. He then said he was calling about my windows computer, which I do not use windows and I called him out on that. He immediately said they must have sent me to the wrong department and would transfer me over to the Mac department. The transfer was unsuccessful and a few moments later I received a call from the phone number listed in this complaint. The man with a heavy indian accent said he was from the Mac department and proceeded with he same line.

He instructed me to go to my computer and let him know when I was there, then proceeded to instruct me to click on the magnifying glass icon at the top right of the screen, which opened up "Spotlight" (A search bar) He the told me to please type in "Terminal," which I did not do. I questioned him more and he advised me to go search his site, which he did not give me a domain name but told me to google Global Tech Solutions, Austin Tx. Which pulls up Global Technology Solutions.

I researched more and found others who have received this same call which offers protection. Most thought it was a scam.

When I typed Global Tech Solutions in google, it brings up Global Tech Solutions India, which I could believe it might have been, although they were claiming they was from Austin Texas, which seems to be a reputable company {Global TECHNOLOGY Solutions)
